So what do you expect to happen on 5/15?
So if NY PAUSE will expire, there will be no legality ceasing businesses from operating? If there’s no executive order, can’t businesses just take their chances and reopen, as there is No longer law to prevent them from doing so?
I would like to see some things open back up, but was does this all mean for the regions that haven’t met the metrics without any government orders?

So what do you expect to happen on 5/15?
For example, my cousin’s bridal shower is scheduled at a restaurant for 5/30. They have not been told of cancellation by the venue. I assume it will happen as there is no order now preventing them from being open??

Sure they can but I highly doubt the government will let that executive order expire and not update it.

Re: So what do you expect to happen on 5/15?
The King said that he is going to extend the order BUT if a region meets the 87 point criteria before then, they can enter phase 1. So no, I do not think a restaurant party on 5/30 can legally happen. I also know someone with a big wedding planned for the end of June. Venue has not cancelled yet but clearly that is a phase 4 activity so there is just no way.

Re: So what do you expect to happen on 5/15?
What I was HOPING would happen come 5/15, was all businesses could open at less capacity with new safety protocols. Kind of like we did before being forced to close. And slowly build it back up to "Normal" as we watch infection rate.
But with the emperor constantly moving that carrot - who the F knows what will be
He wants people to stay home and live off the government indefinitely. Well, those who are actually receiving the crumbs they offer. Feeding the lazy and starving the workers

I prefer Dictator. Each state is it's own little dictatorship run by it's own little dictator 50 little countries run by their own rulers.

I expect they will all just keep dragging this out without any consideration for the ramifications to our society as a whole. At this point, I feel like we'll never be able to resume our lives.

With an inept, unqualified dipwad at the top of it all taking responsibility for NOTHING going on. The way this country is being run right now is a disgrace and due to everyone's ineptitude we're all going to continue to suffer in so many ways.

I think he’s going to extended it to be honest. I know my hospital saw an increase in covid admissions this week, I believe 2 days it wasn’t large but we are still operating 6 COVID units and an additional 7 units of COVID/ PUI mix

I know right! I was very shocked.
I’m confused, how does that work for stores like Home Goods? I guess they can’t open if they aren’t set up for that.

Yep, and I was shocked. New Jersey is now the worst affected state in the nation, reporting more daily deaths and new infections than N.Y., but yet we stay stuck.

Nj just announced non essential businesses can open for drive up. So apparently they are working together or NJ just follows.

I'm thinking we have at least another 11 days from now which brings us to 5/24...
For Metric 2 - Long Island and Mid Hudson is currently at 3/14 days... Unfortunately, hospital deaths in these regions have exceeded 5.
Region must show a sustained decline in the three-day rolling average of daily hospital deaths over the course of a 14-day period. Alternatively, regions can satisfy this metric if the three-day rolling average of daily new hospital deaths has never exceeded 5.
Oddly enough - NYC is at 29 days right now since their numbers were so high so they've met this metric...

I think what's going to happen, is the regions that have met the metric will move to Phase One, and the regions that haven't will not. I think the things that statewide are permitted to open will open. I also think there will be a sh*tload of people who aren't going to give a damn about whether or not Long Island has met the criteria to reopen, and will treat Saturday as a free for all. And that, I think will cause a surge in new cases in about three weeks which will actually prevent Long Island from moving to Phase One, since it appears to me that Curran and Bellone are following the plan set forth by the governor and not going rogue.

Yes it is, I’m glad my Dh was home and made me watch the briefing today lol.
I won’t go because I can imagine it may be a little crowded and traffic. It’s about an hour or more away from me. But it’s promising and I’m happy for those who live in that area.

Maybe not. There is nowhere to have a "free for all." Everything is closed.
