I think I am a good mom because I spend as much time with Taylor as possible.
I do my best to make sure all her needs are met.
I can't hug her or tell her I love her enough times in the day.
I have a crappy voice but I sing all the time (even when DH is moaning about the noise)

I also think in a way, she taught me how to be a good mom

I think that what makes me a good mom is that I do everything with love. I might not do it right but I do it with the best of intentions.

I tell DS that I love him every day and I have finally learned to stop worrying about getting things done...DS is my priority and the rest can wait. This actually makes us both very happy.

I know I'm a good mom because I do my best. I get down on the floor and play, I sing silly songs and even at this young age I'm constantly trying to teach Ds new things.

I'm making this list fully aware of the even larger list of ways that I'm not a good mom.

I think I'm a good mom because, as prncss said, I'm laid back, and I have a pretty even temper.

Also, as a few others said I don't use baby talk (although I secretly think it's adorable when my DD mispronounces certain things).

Since she started talking (and even before), I have taught her to share, and to say please and thank you (not that she always does it, but when she spontaneously says thank you to someone it melts my heart!).

I have fought the urge to spoil her rotton, and taught her that she can't get everything she wants and that demanding something won't make it happen (I got this from my mom, who used to always sing "You can't always get what you want" by the Rolling Stones to us as kids).

I made flash cards for my DD, no not flash cards with letters or words on them, but with pictures of our family, especially those she doesn't get to see that often. I grew up with a huge, close family, and I am working to keep that connection going so that my DD will know the many many people who love her unconditionally and would do anything for her.

Finally, I chose a husband who is an amazing, giving person and an awesome father.

I'm a good mom because:
- I put my DD first, I sacrifice for her future and think about the big picture savings wise before I spend any money
- I share her with others so that she can get as much love as possible from everyone
- I do my best to be interactive and not vegetate in front of the TV
- I try and lead by example and be a role model
- I tell her I love her many, many times a day
- I do my best to 'listen' even though she's only 5 mos old
- I work hard at my marriage and try and keep Daddy happy as he does the same for me

I am a good mom because I know I'm not perfect but I promise to do my best each day God gifts me.

I'm a good mom because my kid is smart. He has an extensive vocabulary and it's because I read to him everyday, a few times a day.

I'm done bragging.

my daughter is my #1 priority. Everything I do now is for her. I am patient and love to play with her....I can make her laugh like no one else

I think I am a good mom because I love to have fun with them. I am constantly running around with Ryan, making funny faces and sounds, and I love to make him laugh. Erin is a little too small for this yet, but I can't wait until we can all play together.

I also tell them both everyday all the time how much I love them. I grew up in a household where my parents always told me that they loved me and I always felt really loved. I want that for my kids.

I'm a good mom because

I let them get away with the little things.
I don't let them get away with the big things.
I won't give in to tantrums.
I reward hard work rather than the right answer.
I encourage them to think.
Much to DH's horror, I make up random things like "No Manners Day" to give them a break from behaving.

I adore my kids. I can't say I love every minute because that would be a lie - but I would say I love every other minute, which is the perfect amount of time to appreciate them all the more.

I'm a good mom because...

1) I did not give up during my recovery when so many times I wanted to throw in the towel. That I fought like He!! for months to just be able to hold her again and rock her to sleep.

2) How I handled my surgery and my heart condition. I could not control my surgery and what I was born with but I controlled how I handled it. I controlled what I told DD and I made a game out of it. Whenever I became depressed I vented on here or went into another room to cry. My young DD did not need to see her mama go through that. Thank GOD I knew enough not to let her see me that way.

3) Even when she is a super crank, I remember the 8 weeks after my surgery when I could not hold, hug or play with her. The years that I loved her before she was conceived. The fact that I am lucky that I even was able to have her. Then, while she is having her fit I pick her up, kiss & hug her and tell her I love her. I guess you would call that objectivity in the face of a tantrum, one of the many gifts my heart surgery gave me.

I go with the flow...I learned early on not to sweat the small stuff.....having her in the hospital really put things in perspective.

I enjoy when she has a bowl of spaghetti on her head grinning up at me.....I am a laugher, not a yeller

DH tells me I am

Gave up dairy and soy for 11 months while BFing. I am now testing him, and my fingers are crossed.

I'm a good mom because i put aside my own feelings or whatever i may be feeling to be there for her, to love her, to show her how much i love her.

I'm also a good mom because i'm very patient and i try to understand her even when is so difficult because she can't really communicate.

I'm a good mom because i would do anything in the world for her, even if that meant sacrificing my own wants and needs.

I think I'm a good mom because my DS and DH are my priorities in life. They come before anyone and anything else. I try to spend all of my free time with my DS and we laugh, play and I sing to him. I think it's important he grow up with values and morals and is respectful to other people and other people's property. I also think it's very important for him to have fun and I try to make him laugh every day.

I'm a good mom because my children are my life and my livelihood. I strive to make them happy and do a ton of fun things with them. I get excited when their excited. I actually *like* going to Chuck E Cheese Sometimes we even eat breakfast for dinner

I fight and will always fight for them and be their number one supporter and make sure they get what they need in order to succeed in life. What makes me an even better mom is the fact that I do it all alone and think I do a pretty darn good job of it
