So who here has done the CND Shellac manicure?
Figured I'd ask this even though there are other posts, because more likely more people have tried it by now.
Did you think it was worth the money?
How long did it last?
Did it ruin your nails?
Thanks! I found a salon by me that does it and I was curious to know what people thought.

I got it only once. I paid $30. Was just as fast as a regular manicure.
I loved it at first. I am very rough on my hands and after the first week, it still looked amazing!
By week #2, I got a little nick on the corner of one nail. I tried to file it smooth, but it didn't work, and by day 10, the polish on that nail peeled off in one whole piece!
In the next few days, it all started peeling off. I got obsessed with peeling the polish right off.  I know they say not to do home removal, but I had 100% acetone at home, so I soaked each nail and used a cloth to get the polish off my nails for good.
I don't think it ruined my nails at all. In fact, I noticed no difference than a regular manicure. Then again, I only had it once, so I have no idea on what repeated applications will do.
Would I do it again? Sure, maybe for a special occasion. Was it worth the money? No. didn't last the full 2 weeks.

My sister does shellac in Queens for $25. Lasted exactly two weeks and then peeled off. Her nails were not damaged.

i get the CND shellac manicure done every 3 weeks and it doesnt chip at all... been going for about 6 months now and my nails are fine. The only reason i have to go back is because my nails grow out so far!
Takes just as long as a regular manicure and there is no worrying about ruining your nails because they dry so quickly.

i have done it 4 times so far and I love it!!
The shine lasts for 2 weeks and I only had one nail chip once- i just wish they had more colors...
i pay $25 which is what 2 manicures cost and they never last me a full week

I get it done at Polished Skin Care in Bayport.
It is $32 and mine last 2.5 weeks. And it was time to change mostly because of grow out. I had one nail chip but I was bowling and it was a week and half after I got it done. I just filed the nail down a little and it was fine.
I am extremely rough on my hands and nails so for me it was completely worth the money.
It didn't ruin my nails at all.

LOVE IT!! I pay $30 and it lasts 2-3 weeks. I regular manicure is a waste for me since I am constantly washing my hands and handling my DD. Shellac is perfect for my lifestyle and I seriously could never go back!

I just got it done for the first time last Sunday and I like it so far. Still no chipping although I will be more mindful of making sure they get the topcoat on really well. My girl missed a couple of the sides of my nails and now its worn off in those spots. It's worth a try, I paid $35 and I think if it lasts 2 wks it's worth it.

I love it. It lasts me about 12 days before any chipping and I have a 22 month old so my hands are in and out of water ALL the time. I bath her everynight.
I pay $25 and go every other week. It's totally worth it to me. There has been no damage to my nails. Actually my nails are now super strong!!!

Yes it is different and no it doesn't ruin your nails.
The place I go to won't do the OPI Gel because of the damage and they do this.

Ditto! My place says the same about OPI.
Here is a little tip, they only buff your nails, but if they file the surface at the top, just a touch, the shellac lasts forever. It tends to chip at the top, once it chips its like the whole things gets loose and you can peel it off. I've been asking for them to file the top a little more. So far so good. I have thick nails, nothing sticks to them. Regular polish doesn't last me a day.
