We are still socially distancing and pretty much avoiding all people.

How long do you plan to do this and aren’t you worried about your immune system?

Every doctor I know is still social distancing as much as possible. They say there is no negative consequence to your immune system from doing so. Actually they say you do NOT want to get Covid at this point - you have no Idea how bad you may get it, what the long term effects will be to your long term health and there is no certain immunity. Not sure why you would try to scare someone who is trying to protect herself and her family with nonsense that it could impact her immune system - it’s not true - ask a doctor,

Yes it seems people have decided that it's safe to carry on as normal. Sleepovers and playdates are back on. Beach and back yard get togethers are back on. Chatting on sidewalks and taking over the entire sidewalk..back on. Wearing masks but up people's ass? It's on.

The only way to avoid is to stay in your own pre made bubble and do not succumb to peer pressure.

How long are we supposed to wait? I have been out of the office going on 4 months now. Didn’t see family and friends for 3 months. No one was sick, almost all essentials. We all did our part and still will wear masks where needed but life has to go on. Viruses will never go away and never did. People will always get sick. Never stopped anything before this.

The lady that was my up husband's ass today was wearing both a mask AND gloves. If you have a need to wear gloves in the store then back off my husband and stay 6 ft apart. Its fine if you want to go out but don't infringe on our personal space because you think things are back to normal. Be respectful of other people and maintain your distance. And the sides of the tents were down while the tables were full of diners. It was most likely to give privacy from the cars in the parking lot but I think it defeats the whole purpose of outdoor dining being safer at this point.

There was someone so close to me at the supermarket today! You are supposed to wait until the cashier calls - after they scan all of my items - but no - she was still scanning and he was right next to me (on express). Closer than I like people
To be normally!

I went to the actual grocery store the other day for the first time in a while. The place was a mad house. I was waiting for the guy in front of me to finish checking out, standing on my dot and the old lady behind me, with a f**king oxygen hose on her face, asks me when I'm going to start putting my groceries up on the belt. So I told her that I'm supposed to wait until the guy in front of me is finished. In a huff, she hauls ass to the next checkout lane. Like WTF lady, you're the one wearing an oxygen tank. Chat Icon

It's funny because she could have social distanced and been out of the store way sooner if she just stayed and waited. Instead she found a line where she could force her shit up on the belt sooner, but got held up because the cashier needed change for the guy in front of her. I loaded my car and pulled out of the lot before she even came out of the store.

Yes! Outdoors! Not inside and not throwing social distancing out the window!

People are really going to regret it when in the Fall we are all back to being quarantined. Why can't people just follow the rules. Wear a mask and in public stay 6 feet apart. It's not that hard. They need to start making this a true law. The only way people will start paying attention is if they start getting fines.

This. If you are a stranger to me and not someone I am choosing to spend time with, back the eff up!I wish they would fine people and a big fine, like $500 first offense. People don't care, don't believe it and don't listen. And when there is no school in September, which I strongly doubt there will be, and we are back to being quarantined, these idiots will still be wandering around going, but I don't get it, it's the flu, and I'm a special snowflake who doesn't need to follow rules.

She is just ignorant, that is all. She is the type who will not believe something a dr tells her, she thinks the human race is going to have no immunity after 3 months!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just hope she lives know where near me!

Re: Social Distancing out the window?

The fact of the matter, whether you agree with it or not, the country is opening up. People are allowed to have get togethers now and kids can play with their friends. If you don’t agree, stay home. No one is stopping anyone from living their life how they see fit. Why get mad at others who are ready to move on to some normalcy? I just don’t get it. Stay inside, have a bbq, just mind your own life.

That's not the issue, the issue is people not taking others health into consideration. Im out everyday, because I work. I am not privileged to be working from home. I've had my cousin die, 6 co-workers be diagnosed, countless members of their families including TWO children, one who is in the hospital 2 months with no prior conditions. So just because everything is opening back up doesn't mean you have to do everything. I still try to keep my shopping trips to once a week. I have no desire to sit and eat in a parking lot. But if you are someone who needs to go everywhere and see everyone in the world because you can, wear your damn mask and back the eff up! I picked up something at Old Nay the other day for Fathers day...asshole in his 40's with his kids kept getting closer and closer until finally he was on me! I told him to get back on his circle, they aren't there for decoration. I don't want your germs, I don't understand why you( general you) can't be considerate. I didn't want you up my ass in a store Pre-Covid, not sure why people think it is ok now.

And it's useless to pretend that we can all do our thing and be unaffected by one another.

The economy will be much worse off for selfish people who refuse to wear masks and distance.

School may not be able to open up because of them.

They will infect and kill people who are wearing masks and trying to dstance.

They will disrupt the supply chain further.

If schools do open back up, people who don't care aout anyone but themselves will send their kids in sick and probably force closures where the schools can't detect what is going on. But not before these kids set off more lethal infections in others.

We are all so clearly affected by one another's actions no matter what.

But the Govenors will be to blame why schools will be closed and possibly other closures meanwhile its all because people dont know how to follow rules and keep their distance. No one is saying don't go out but if you do keep your distance.

This isn’t a competition, I know people who died one was a cop, my cousin was diagnosed, had every symptom and was sick for two months, my DH also worked and has been exposed twice. I know other who were diagnosed. So not sure if that makes me better than other or even the point of using this as an argument.

Secondly, my response was to people criticizing others for bbq’ing, letting their kids live and see friends. Not about wearing mask or being up each other’s butt. Things are opening and if people want to enjoy all the perks, stop caring so much. Let them go shopping, eat out, get their hair done etc, who cares. Live your life. I don’t get why it bothers people so damn much.

It’s not illegal, it’s allowed now and is helping the economy. You know the people who were about to go starving and lost everything, the people who want to do “everything” are helping these families survive.

Social Distancing out the window?

We follow all the rules. Always wear masks out in public, keep six feet apart, and keep group sizes to 10. When we hit phase 3, we will allow groups of 25.
Following the rules means it is ok to go to restaurants, stores, and hair salons. I took my girls for haircuts yesterday, we all wore masks.
I think what the OP was referring to was people who go these places and do not follow the guidelines. Which, I agree is engaging. Go out, enjoy, live your life. That's what we plan on doing this summer. But do it while following the rules and being respectful of others.

Yes! when we were eating at restaurants this week and last all I could think was how wonderful that these waiters, waitresses and bus boys who were working so hard out in the heat with masks and gloves on are back to work. How wonderful that the owner of this restaurant can now make some more money to pay his bills.
..I never ate in a parking lot though I ate on a beautiful outdoor deck overlooking a pond and 2 very nicely done upscale patios of restaurants. Chat Icon

Nobody said it was a competition. My point in saying i have lost people was to the people on this board, and we have a ton, who do not believe in the virus. None of this was directed at you. And no the people who go to Target, Stop Shop, Home Depot, CVS every single day are not helping anything. We can order from those businesses or do pick up. The people who have been socializing since day one are not helping any families survive, I'm not even sure how you are making that argument. You obviously don't agree that the virus is serious and that is fine. You are in NJ if I'm not mistaken, so I'm not worried about you. I doubt our paths will cross. My whole point was just because you can do something doesn't mean you should. But your actions, going to eat, nails done, hair done, do affect others. We don't live in a vacuum. I just want people to be cognizant of the fact.

Actually NJ does effect NYC. You saying that shows how close minded you are. It doesn’t matter what I say, you just want everything to stay shut down and people to not go out. I do take the virus seriously, but I also know how to step outside of my bubble and see that others are also impacted. Covid is not the only crisis we are dealing with right now. I also don’t judge people who are scared or want to stay in and order everything online. That is their right. I don’t chastise them or say they are assisting in ruining the economy.

Sadly the same can’t be said for people who think like you. It’s seems like your way is the only right way to live right now.

You know, this is the new normal for everyone. So people aren't used to standing on a circle waiting their turn. This is is new for everyone. It's going to take some time for people to actually get used to what you are required to do because it's never been done. You are not required to go out. So if you are going to get so upset about it, I would stay home, then you won't have to worry about it. I highly doubt you're getting Corona from a masked man not standing on his Circle though.

I know NJ affects NY. I meant I don't know you and I doubt YOU are coming to my neighborhood. YOU don't want to listen to anyone but you and your fellow mean girls here. I am an essential worker, I will not be staying in , you're welcome. You have made it a habit to twist everything that anybody says that you don't agree with. I'm not engaging anymore. It's a beautiful summer day, I am at my beach house , so I am going to enjoy it instead of arguing with bitter women on the internet I do not know. I hope you will enjoy this day also and any Father's Day plans.

Re: Social Distancing out the window?

Posted by Naturalmama

We follow all the rules. Always wear masks out in public, keep six feet apart, and keep group sizes to 10. When we hit phase 3, we will allow groups of 25.
Following the rules means it is ok to go to restaurants, stores, and hair salons. I took my girls for haircuts yesterday, we all wore masks.
I think what the OP was referring to was people who go these places and do not follow the guidelines. Which, I agree is engaging. Go out, enjoy, live your life. That's what we plan on doing this summer. But do it while following the rules and being respectful of others.

THANK YOU!

Nobody said it was a competition. My point in saying i have lost people was to the people on this board, and we have a ton, who do not believe in the virus. None of this was directed at you. Enjoy your beach house, which, further adds to my point. So easy to judge others when you live a certain away. Chat Icon

We are still socially distancing and pretty much avoiding all people.

How long do you plan to do this and aren’t you worried about your immune system?

I don’t stay isolated in my house. We are outside all day. I’ve brought my son to the park but we’ve worn masks and socially distance best we can. We go on daily bike rides, runs and walks. I go to stores when necessary and wear a mask. I just don’t have BBQs with multiple families or go to crowded places. I am not concerned about my immune system. It’s not like it forgets how to make WBCs and antibodies. We are planning on getting together with family soon, but I am not rushing it. We will meet up outside. Covid-
19 is not over.

Nope it is not over and probably never will be just like other virus’ that can potentially kill you also.

So why do children get sick the first months once in daycare or school? They have to build up their immunity.

Our pediatrician has her kids playing with others outdoors. I trust her judgement. Everyone has a different comfort level.

Yes! Outdoors! Not inside and not throwing social distancing out the window!

So you think is someone is outdoors they are farther away from another person if they were inside? Especially kids?

She is just ignorant, that is all. She is the type who will not believe something a dr tells her, she thinks the human race is going to have no immunity after 3 months!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just hope she lives know where near me!

If you have a mask on, why are you worried? I could never go out if I was paranoid about getting sick as I know the mask is really for me not to get people sick but if they have them on they can’t get you sick too.
