Some questions about gluten/dairy free and prednisone and delestrogen?
Ok Dr. B's office told me to try to go gluten free and eat less dairy. I have been doing it for a while maybe 2 weeks and didn't notice much of a difference in how I feel yet.
I did eat dairy last night and got sick but I don't know if it's a side effect from delestrogen.
I am on 10 mg of prednisone....is acne and nauseousness a side effect too?
Any btdt advice?

I've never limited gluten or dairy but I have been on prednisone and delesterogen and have not those side effects. Of course it's different for everyone ....
All the delestrogen is really doing is raising your estrogen level. You could be feeling the side effects of THAT which could give you a headache, hot flashes, etc... all hormonal type things.
Prednisone just made me hungrier and I gained weight on it. From what I remember, my skin actually improved on it. I have eczema but didn't while I was on prednisone. I am also prone to canker sores which I did not get while on it.

I agree. Prednisone made me hungry.
They suggested gluten/ dairy free for endo. I think It's also part of the pcos diet.

I'm sure any change in diet while adding medications can cause adverse reactions. Maybe not for everyone but for some, definitely! I'm very sensitive and almost always had terrible side effects first time around. Id suggest a slow diet change and increase your water intake. I also went to acupuncture for the side effects and overall balance, it worked wonders.

Thanks ladies! I had been doing the diet change for about 10 days before I started the medications I am hoping it does not happen next time!

I'm gluten free for 10 months now. I'm not sure cutting stuff out of your diet would make you react...but then again who knows. Do you have severe reactions with milk products prior to cutting them out of your diet? Prednisone also cleared up my adult acne (which is why I loved it). I have gained weight in past from it but I noticed that if I watched what I ate and exercised I did not gain weight but you have to be disciplined for that.

Re: Some questions about gluten/dairy free and prednisone and delestrogen?
It seems we're being given similar plans of attack. I was told to go gluten and dairy free (FUN combo! ) after being tested by Dr. B. We're still not trying--- at this point I need some adjustment time for my body. He said I was moderately allergic to wheat, etc.. and highly allergic to dairy and told me to start going gluten free over 3 weeks ago. A week and a half ago I got my results and was told to cut out dairy too... and red meat and soy. When I cycle again I'll be on prednisone but haven't been on any as of yet. I have HORRIBLE acne since starting this- and I usually don't get it. DH is going gluten free with me (even though I didn't ask him to ) and he too noticed that he's been breaking out. Ah, fun time. HTH!

I don't know if it was something I was tested for or just was told to do. Either way I'll try it! Best of luck!

Acne is a side effect of prednisone.
