Hi ladies. I have a few questions....

Ok, first of all, I apologize for posting under the fake name, but until I know something for sure, I would just prefer anonymity.
My DH and I have NOT been ttc, however, accidents happen, and I have some questions.

First of all, if I am pregnant, how long will it take for me to find out?
Did anyone know they were pregnant right away? (within a few days time span?)
I'm not due for af for another week and a half to two weeks, do I need to wait until then to test?

I am just very nervous. We are newly married, and while we both have great jobs and health insurance and everything else needed to start a family, I still feel too young and not ready for a baby. However, we have realized that if I am pregnant, then obviously it was meant to be. I'm just torn between feeling hopeful that I might be pregnant and feeling sad that if I am, I did not get to enjoy married life the way I had wanted before having children.

I'm sorry if this is a lot to post, but I am just feeling so conflicted, and considering where I'm at in my cycle, I can't help but think there's no way I'm NOT pregnant. So if anyone has any words of advice or whatever, I would appreciate it. I do not want to discuss this with any of my friends or family, as it would be made into a huge deal (in a good way), and I would rather not get anyone else in my life involved until I know something for sure. TIA

Re: Hi ladies. I have a few questions....

You can always call your Dr. and explain the concerns to him/her.... Your Dr. may offer a blood test to ease your worries, or may just tell you to try to relax (i know- almost impossible) these next couple of weeks and start testing the week your period is due...

Having a fear of starting a family is completely natural for those who have been ttc, and those who have not.. especially after you get your BFP... Until then, try to stay relaxed..

I was not ttc when I found out I was preggo with my son.. totally disheartening, because I too wanted to "enjoy" my remaining "youth" and early marriage.. when we found out, I posponed our wedding.. until after baby was born!

After I had my son, NOTHING that I thought or worried about came ture.. there were some trying times, getting used to a new baby,a new marriage, and balancing bills, but eventually, (much sooner than I expected), things fell into place. He was (and is) the joy of my life.. and I enjoyed my "youth" much more after I had him..

Hope that helps, if you have any other questions or concerns you can FM me or post it, and I will do my best to help you! Best wishes..Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Hi! Well, since most women ovulate (release an egg) 14 days BEFORE their period, it means that you have just ovulated. If you are indeed pregnant, it would mean that it just happened within the past few days. Since it would be too early to tell right now, you can test within 12 days. So that means around October 5th or so. Good luck!

Re: Hi ladies. I have a few questions....

It's def too early for you to test to see if you are pg. I dont think anyone is every truly financially ready to have a baby. Even now, being 8 weeks pg, we are overwhelmed with what is ahead us. We just left babies r us, like holy moly, we are pregnant. and this baby was so very planned.

Don't worry about the what ifs right now, just concentrate on the now, and focus on today and time will fly by. There's no use stressing yourself out over something that may not even be.

Have you and your DH had the kid talk yet? Talked about when you want to start?

My advice is that if you haven't to absolutely do it now and then go on a reliable form of birth control until that time so you don't have to worry about the mishaps, and the oopps when you aren't ready for a child yet. All it takes is one time for his boys to reach that eggy, believe me, I am living proof of that!

If you are pg, take it in stride, and be happy! Believe me, it will all be worth it in the end, and no one will matter but that little baby and you guys will do anything to give that baby a good life. Selfishness goes out the window when you create a baby and love that little one so much even before you meet him/her.

Good luck

Re: Hi ladies. I have a few questions....

first- You only have a 25% chance of getting PG every month evn when doing it at the 100% right time....Chances are slim you are PG

You cant tell by a PG test till at earliest 5 days before your next period is due, and some wont test positive till the day they miss a period.

I would if your not being 100% careful and not ready yet, like Sweetness said, Talk to your DH, this conversation should happen now before you do get PG to make sure you both understand how the other one feels.

You should also take a look at your cycles in the future if your Not pg so you can take a little more control and be able to avoid it, and understand how long your cycle is, and understand when you can test and stuff. There is a TON of info online that wouldnt take very long to find.

If you are PG, well I wish you good luck...

Hang in there...

Re: Hi ladies. I have a few questions....

My pregnancy was a BIG shock...I am young, and had just gotten engaged, and at the time the only thing that mattered to me was my princess wedding...

Although DH and I were thrilled, and did not doubt for a second that we wanted to be parents...I still freaked out... I just didnt see how everything was gonna work out!

All my mom kept saying to me was... No one is ever REALLY ready for a baby..however everything would work out...

All I can say is she was right!!!!! Everything worked out...and very well might I add... Sometimes when I sit back and think about it, I cant even figure out how things work out...but they do!

All I know is that I had one plan for my life...and God just laughed...there are things we have no control over!!!

Re: Hi ladies. I have a few questions....

Thanks for your responses ladies. DH and I have had the "baby talk" since the second we began having sex years ago. I knew I was going to marry him very early on in our relationship, and this is somethign that as recently as the other day we were talking about. But we were talking even more today, and the more we think about it, the happier we are that I might be pg. Because looking at our lives, yes we are still young and selfish, but YES, we want children and although we were not planning this, if it turns out I am pg, we will be absolutely thrilled. I think what is scaring me the most is that I'm NOT scared of being pg. If that makes sense. It's hard when all your life you try not to get pregnant and you try to do things in what you think is "the right order", then to finally be married and have it be "ok" to be pregnant. Does that make sense? Anyway, thank you very much for taking the time to respond, it means a lot to me to be able to come on here and find comfort when I know there is no one else to talk to. I will keep you all updated as to what happens.Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Hi ladies. I have a few questions....

Also remember that you still have 9 months if you are to enjoy newly married life. You can't drink or party but you guys can travel and enjoy yourselves in other ways. When I was pregnant I felt such a shift in the way I felt. I felts so strong and "on top" of things. I don't know if it was mental or hormonal or what. Good luck to you whatever happens.
