Even though you have the right to be upset, I would try to put things into perspective. A car is a car and "things" are always replaceable -- people are not. I don't think it's worth damaging your relationship with SIL or DH. JMO

Re: Someone please tell me I'm overreacting!
Just for clarification...I didn't accuse anyone other than my DH...I asked my siblings if they saw anything.
And my DH would have told me...he bought the car, why would he hide that?
I am getting over it. Thanks!

That S U C K S! I would let it go for 2 reasons.... 1) you don't really know who did it since you did not see it happen 2) it sounds like they helped you out a lot yesterday - not that it washes what happened but since you didn't see it you should accuse. For all you know it happened in the parkinglot when your DH ran errands.
Unfortunately, your reason #2 is the reason why I'll have to do everything myself from now on. They're really careless with my things when they do "favors"...like my BIL broke the glass from the light cover on the microwave when he installed it... I said something and it didn't matter...because it was a "favor".
So I'll learn how to paint or hire someone to do repairs from now on. It's not worth me getting upset because they ALWAYS break something. And although I don't think like you (that it washes itself out) they do...and that's not cool with me...'cause I wouldn't be that way with their things.
But like I said, I am feeling much better. And DH is taking it to the dealer to get fixed. I don't even want to know how much it is.

This is why I am very careful about who I ask for favors. Honestly, it is sometimes just worth it to spend the money and know that if something goes wrong, someone is responsible for fixing it. If I am going to have to pay to fix the screw ups later, I'd rather just pay up front for a professional job and save myself the aggrevation, JMO.
I know it stinks, but I also think that since you didn't know who did it, it's better to let it go. I have gotten hit once in a parking lot and another time, the side of my car scraped up while I was at Target and parked all the way at the outside of the parking lot and I was And my car wasn't even new, so I can only imagine how upset you must have been.
