Something really awful happened to my neighbor's cats...
We have a very tight knit block, we all know each other since it's a dead end with only 8 houses on the block. My neighbor has 4 outdoor cats. They stay mostly on the block and when they sit on my porch, I always pet them and they're really nice cats. Well, a new neighbor moved in on the corner of our block. He hasn't been the friendliest, but we just thought maybe he kept to himself, to each his own. Well, it turns out he put out small bowls of anti-freeze on his driveway and my neighbor's cats came a drank it (since it's sweet, animals are drawn to it), and one died and two others are now on the brink of death The ASPCA came and dealt with it, and I don't know what's going to come of this, but the neighbor who put out the antifreeze has not been home since this went down a few days ago. My poor neighbor is devastated. I feel so bad for those poor, unsuspecting cats. We're such an animal friendly block, we all have animals, and this is just so upsetting

Have they called the police or looked into filing charges? Animal cruelty is a crime, and I'm sure something planned like this would be taken pretty seriously.
I know you said the ASPCA was involved, but I would have the polic involved as well

*****????? Listen even if you dont dig cats and you dont want them on your property (which some people wouldnt) shoot them with a water gun or something (I'm sure they'd find some place more pleasant to hang out after that) but to purposefully harm them is just disgusting. Maybe somebody needs to sprinkle some arsenic on his cereal and see how he likes being poisoned

And this is what's so upsetting. They're obviously my neighbor's cats and not ferrels. They sleep on his stoop all day, and basically hang out on his property, however, at night they sleep on the driveway across the street (the one where they got poisoned). I don't know why he didn't just talk to our neighbor about it (I asked my neighbor if he did and he did not ever say anything.) Ugg. We're all so upset. This is usually such a peaceful block where we all know each other and look out for each other. Did I love the fact that four cats would sleep on my porch sometimes when I first moved in? No, but I got to know whose cats they were and I got to know the cats and I never minded. You don't have to love cats or even like them, but you certainly don't have to kill them either.

If somebody in my neighborhood were to do that, he would mysteriously end up with a bullet between his eyes, and I'd be the one to put it there!!! I can't believe that!!! What a piece of sh!t.
My landlord is an ASPCA cop and before I got pregnant, he kept asking me to come work for them b/c I have such a love for animals and with my LE background, would be a perfect candidate----but, I told him I'd end up hurting somebody VERY badly if I were to come in contact with them! I don't know how he does it. I know, at the very least, this assh*le will get arrested and charged with animal cruelty and hopefully serve the 1 year in prison. G*d, what a fu¢king scumbag!!!!! I really hope your neighbor gives him the beating of his life.

OMG SICK M*THER F**K*R!!!!!!!!!!!! and it takes a LOT for me to call someone that. I am glad to hear the ASPCA is involved. If i lived by you he might not have a car to drive in the morning. Prayers for your neighbor.

This is the second time there have been stories here of cats being intentionally hurt or abducted.
It makes me wonder if the "outside" cat is going to be a thing of the past. And that they'll become "inside" cats instead.
I just don't understand the kind of mind that it would take to do such a thing.
