Can anyone recommend a hotel and spa for NYC or LI for a weekend getaway? Looking for minimal travel time from Nassau County

Re: Somewhat local hotel and spa recs

I did a girls' weekend in March at The East Wind spa. Stayed at the hotel there, which is fine (nothing to rave about, imo). The spa, while not the most luxurious I've ever been to, in terms of décor, amentities, etc. was relaxing and the treatments were good (all 4 of us enjoyed our massages and said we'd definitely go back).

But it was nice to be in that general area because we went to a few wineries before we checked in, and then we had a really good brunch at The Riverhead Project (a great restaurant out there) the next day before we went back to the hotel to get our spa treatments.

If you are looking for a girls' getaway (not just strictly about the spa), I would recommend it. You could even hit Tanger's, as well as the wineries and some nice restaurants.

It was a nice, relaxing getaway, and didn't involve a lot of driving (and it was pretty reasonable in terms of cost).

Not on LI, or city, but my friend also recommended the Spa at Norwich Inn (in Connecticut), and we considered going there, but because we only really had 24 hours, we opted for East Wind.
