Did she do anything else to acknowledge it? A gift? Card in the mail? Stop by?

He doesn't, HER son does.

He is lucky to have my parents and a wonderful step grandmother, but still, what does it take? 15 seconds?Chat Icon

That's really lousy. At least for now he's too little to understand. Does your DH ever say anything to her?

, HER son does.

this is so sad. that really must hurt your husband.

I am on the flip side, where so far it's been MY mom who doesn't see our son much, doesn't call really..and then my MIL is his constant care giver...loves and adores him...even MY grandmother has seen my son more than my mom.

it stinks, and to be honest, at least for me, it's a little embarrassing.

I hope Chris takes comfort in the fact that your son HAS your family, who sounds wonderful. and sounds like in reality, they more than make up for what he is "missing".

hugs then, for your dh. Chat Icon Chat Icon and mas cake for C3! Chat Icon Chat Icon

does she speak to DH?

Yeah. Well, they have a strained relationship and can go months without speaking. But Christopher (my son) called her for HER birthday on April 3rd.

She did buy him two Tag Jr books (that I emailed her the ones to buy...)

Truly, it is her loss.

I'm sure you're not surprised at all, but that doesn't mean you (and Chris) aren't disappointed. It's just horrible Chat Icon
