Re: Soo...make that two years in a row

I was just thinking about this again...I guess because my dad has never seen my daughter yet and I sent him an invitation to her baptism this weekend and got no response. I really don't understand some people...its one thing to hold a grudge/not get along with another adult...but a grandchild? Why?

And ITA with you, its her loss!

Being a grandma myself, I can not fathom this.
I would walk through fire for that boy. Even if it was just to talk to him on the phone.

You're right...it's her loss!
I'm sorry for your DH. That must really hurt.

I'm trying to think if my in laws called for my kids birthdays. I guess I wouldn't even expect it. They always sent cards and we probably called at some point the thank them but at that age DD didn't really even talk on the phone.

My DS does...and a lot and like I said, we called for her birthday and he spoke to her and talked about his birthday.

He talks on the phone pretty much everydayChat Icon

Luckily Christopher has more than enough family and loved ones who DO care to make the effort.

Re: Soo...make that two years in a row

it took 3 yrs of bdays and christmases without a call/gift from mil to make dh throw in the towel.

I would have never been told this info(windows were open one night while he was drinking with the neighborChat Icon )

he is past shocked, embarassed, hurt...now just knows she doesn't deserve us.

sorry to your dh. i can't imagine what it feels like as my mother treats josh's bday as though it is a national holiday...seriously, she takes the day off of work even though she is in ny and we are in nc. (his bday is christmas week, she can't take off till the 23rd to come down)

I always wonder what it is going to be like when they get older and do realize.

That's awful. I'm so sorry. Chat Icon My MIL passed away just before I met DH, but from what I've heard she would have gone to the moon for DD. As a mom now I cannot imagine at least not calling HER son to say something.

Chat Icon

For the girl, yes, for the boy, no.

My SIL and I have discussed this actually, I mean, she sent her son (DH) away too, she apparently has issues with men and boys...but one woudl think that it could exclude at 20 month old and a 3 year oldChat Icon
