Soooo far in advance but..... Wish list for your DC for holidays

Does anyone do the toys r us wish list (or something similar?). I never have but every Xmas I am returning tons of duplicates. Was wondering if it's worth doing? Plus it's not the just returning on my part that is an issue it's more the who's getting what and the competition among the familes. It's so annoying and the holidays shouldn't be like that but th stress I get put under Bc the gift I told do and so wasn't "special" enough according to them is just too much.
I was thinking the wish list would eliminate that problem Bc it would be out of my hands.

I do one on amazon and love it. I only tell people if they ask but everyone seems happy to be able to choose things they know she'll like.

I made DD a Amazon wish list. Throughout the year I've added stuff that I've seen in stores or felt she'd like. Most of what is on it is stuff I (Santa) will get her...but it always makes it easy if a family member asks for suggestions. When people ask, I'll tell them I have a wish list and can send it to them or if they'd prefer I can make a few suggestions from it.

My family asks me to purchase their gifts and then they reimburse me for it. Sometimes I will ask the grandparents (in-laws and my parents) to go in on one large joint gift for the kids. They like that a lot because it means that they know that no one gave a better gift and they spent the same amount of money. I found that for my family it helps keep the family harmony in place because once my parents got DD a big gift and when my mil saw it she said oh it is from her/fil too. My mom got upset. It was just not worth the fighting for me when it should be a happy time.

I prefer she not get a ton of toys for Christmas- since she really doesn't show much interest in them and I have no space.
So I tell everyone clothes or gift cards

I made ds a wish list of stuff that dh and I (Santa) will get him. If anyone asks I'll share it with them but it's more just fr me to keep track.

I do one for amazon......

durring the year I add stuff I think would be nice. then at christmas his parents shop off it, and I use it or go to the store for black friday sales and remove stuf.
