Sorry to Crash PCOSish related..
...but I need some help.
Can anyone recommend a Reproductive Endocrinologist who will see patients who arent trying to conceive...
I have some blood work that my general endo thinks is OK. But from my own knowledge and from searching online...I know is messed up.
I made an appointment at my GYN but if they arent concerned Id like to run it by an RE...
Im sorry to crash but I didnt know where else to turn...
TIA

i am not sure, but wouldn't you just see a regular endo? I know that's what my BFF did when she wasn't getting AF.

My RE's office (RSOFNY) Stony Brook will see patients not trying to conceive, but you must have a referral from a physician ...There is a Dr. there named Dr.Lydic who specializes in PCOS..
I know how hard it can be to get a referral to a specialist....Hopefully some of the other girls on here have an RE they can reccomend that sees patients in your situation or can ask at one of their appointments !

Good question. Honestly I dont see how they would turn you away. I would call Dr. Braverman....the girls on here rave about him and he's really good with new patients. I'm not even a patient of his yet and when I called for a consult he got on the phone and was willing to talk to me. Try it - it cant hurt His office number is 516 -584 -8710

The new blood work that I just got back from my regular endo is indicative of PCOS....
High testosterone LH to FSH ratio is 3:1 High DHEA levels
But b/c they all fall into the normal range (albeit barely) he said they were normal....
This is aside from the fact that I have put on 40lbs this past year, have excessive hair growth, very oily skin, only 4 periods this past year and essentially every other PCOS symptom...he says it's not my issue...based solely on the fact that I never had an issue to conceive...
Im so exhausted over being dismissed. The minute a women complains about excessive weight gain they blow it off to over eating and sedetary lifestyle..and if you tell them that isnt the case they dont believe you. Im at the end of my rope at this point and just want to find someone who can help me.

What about getting a second opinion from another endocrinologist?

Re: Sorry to Crash PCOSish related..
I would think any RE would see you in regards to just regulating your system. And almost all RE's are well versed in PCOS as it's probably one of the most common forms of IF. He/She most likely would just put you on Metformin to regulate your cycle and monitor you for a bit.

I've been seeing Dr. Lydic for several years now without trying to conceive. I participated in one of his research studies on insulin resistance. He's a great doctor and very knowledgeable.

ITA with this. I saw Dr. Lydic as a patient well before we were married or TTC. I knew I had PCOS and that we'd have issues--- and wanted to get as much as we could under control before TTC. HTH!
