Sort of spinoff: positive group B strep + scheduled c-section
Hi moms, sorry to crash but it JUST OCCURRED to me now (thanks to the other GBS thread) I do not know the answer to this question and I am scheduled for a c-section on Monday morning! 
I tested positive for GBS but given that I am having a planned section and therefore not going into labor, do I need the IV antibiotics prior to the operation?
I ask because I'm scheduled to arrive at 4:30 a.m. for pre-surgical, and my c is scheduled for 7:30 a.m. ... yet I've read I'm supposed to have 4 hours of antibiotics. 
TIA so much for your help!

I had a scheduled c/s and tested +. They gave me an antibiotic drip in L&D beforehand. I definitely didn't have the antibiotics for 4hrs. I showed up at 5:30 and was in the OR at 7:35.
