Soy formula
Thoughts?
The ped said I could try it but he didn't think it would help. I gave her one bottle and it smells. She spit a lot of it up. Should I give up? Or keep giving it to her?

Re: Soy formula
That is up to you. If he doesn't think it will help, I would keep her on the one she is on. I tried Hayley on it for 1 day and in that 1 day it made her constipated and stained her clothes. And yes it smells!!!!!!!

Re: Soy formula
Miranda did HORRENDOUS on soy formula. What about Enfamil AR? Its for acid reflux babies? Miranda can't do milk formula so we are back to Alimentum which stinks worse than the soy.

Re: Soy formula
Patrick was on Soy formula (my choice (he was gassy) He loved it. I had to use the RTF ones because the powdered gave him the runs.

Re: Soy formula
Our dr said it takes c2 weeks to notice a difference in formula changes. I saw a difference in a day...less gas, it's easier for her to pass gas too and she fusses less

Re: Soy formula
My son is 7 weeks old. I just switched him to SOY and I it worked WONDERS!!!
He is a little colic and has had trouble pooping adn the worst gas since he was born. He has been on:
Similac Advance Similac with Iron Infamil Gentlease Similac Alimentum
Then finally I got a free can of Similac Soy in the mail and I figured what the he L L I might as well try this. Well 4 days later he is sleeping from 11 to 7 am . He is pooping on his on and has minimal gas. I am afraid to even say it out loud. FInally he is comfortable, not crying with pains in his tummy on end. He was going 4 days without pooping it was horrible.
So the moral of the story is.... TRY ANYTHING!!!
Good luck, I know how hard it is. I will keep my fingers crossed for you.

Re: Soy formula
My daughter was allergic to soy but we tried it. It does smell a little. Is she allergic to regular formula? Usually people try soy for a reason

Re: Soy formula
my son is on soy (similac isomil advance) and it definitely helped with the spitting up. He was on 3 other formulas before we tried this one. Give it a few more days and see what happens. It may take 3-5 days for her body to adjust to the change.
I don't think it smells any more that other formula.

She seems to have reflux- the pediatrician said soy.
