Spin off - Foods you don't like: How do you handle your kids
If you don't like something (for me its eggs) - how do you get your kids to eat it if they should.
My DS loves eggs so its not a problem getting him to eat something I don't like. In general I'm a pretty good eater so I just don't make things I don't like.

I don't eat read meat, pork, any meat other than poultry (& fish). I don't cook any of the meats that I don't eat. I don't know how to buy them or cook them. Sooo, I have no idea how I will handle this when DD (5 months) starts eating meat. I want her to make her own decisions about meat ( i just don't like them), so I guess I will have to try cooking some. I will of course allow her to have meat when we go somewhere and it is served..

I hate turkey and ham, however, I have decided that at least twice a month I can suck it up and eat it for the sake of DS' pallate

Re: Spin off - Foods you don't like: How do you handle your kids
My husband hates.. well.. everything.
I don't make my kids eat anything. I have them try a variety of things - but if they really don't like something I don't force it on them. They are people too. They know that Rob won't eat certain things.. but they don't let that effect their opinions because they know that their opinions matter to me too. Robbie hates marinated steak.. so if I am marinating steak, I am sure to have some unmarinated for him. Noah does not like raw onions. If I make salad with onion, I make sure to take some and put it aside for him before the onion goes in. Same thing I'd do for my husband. As long as I know they have TRIED it and given it a legitimate chance.. I'm fine.
If it is just that they don't PREFER it.. that's a different story. For example.. my kids would drink juice for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They are allowed juice once per day and for all other meals/snacks they have an option - milk, water or nothing.
