Spin off to all the "OMG! Weight Gain!" Posts...
Ladies....
I just have to say this because I want us ALL to feel good during this time
You are growing a human being inside you!! You have NO CONTROL over what your body is doing and how it's responding to your pregnancy! It makes me sad when I hear people so upset about how much weight they're gaining. It's nothing to worry about, if anything, nothing to get upset about! It's inevitable!!
You're body is doing EXACTLY what it needs to do to get ready for your precious little cargo. It's creating a safe environment for your baby to grow, live and love. We are all responding differently and you should just embrace how amazing this whole process is, weight gain, or no weight gain.
I understand that more than half of you had GREAT, if not amazing, bodies before this happened. But when you really think about it, I mean REALLY think about what is happening, doesn't it put things into perspective?
Now, I'm not saying turn into a 400 pound monster... but gaining more than the "books" tell us, or all the comparisons to those who came before us, IS OK!!!
Don't think of it as gaining this much, or that much... think of it as growing your baby!!!
When all is said and done and you're staring at that baby in your arms, it's ALL going to be worth it.

I don't mind gaining weight, I'm enjoying eating what I want for once. My only problem is that it is hard to listen to the Dr. give me the lecture when I have put on more than "normal". (last time the nurse made such a big deal about it- meanwhile, I weigh less than she does and I'm 6 months pg!) I am very happy with the way I look, I just wish these Dr.'s would just zip their lips and let us enjoy ourselves!

Luckily, my doctors have not said anything about my weight gain and I was over weight to begin with. My mom on the other hand...she makes sure to ask me "how much weight have you gained" after each visit...that irks me to no end

I agree!
My doc gave me a hard time because I'm up 20 pounds.
The funny thing is, I was expecting them to say that I hadn't gainied ENOUGH weight. Instead they said slow down.

I totally agree. I have gained weight but I actually like it. I have been thin all my life and a little bit of thickness makes for a volumptous bod. Embrace your bodies ladies. Love the skin your in right now.

I totally agree with you!
It's just gets frustrating, especially for me since i am a control freak. My first pg, i used being pg as an excuse to eat and everything i wanted. I gained over 50 lbs cause of it.
I always wonder what genes the other girls were blessed with that only gain like 20-25 lbs their whole pg.
Even this pg, I still gained close to 20lbs and i am only 18 weeks and this pg, I have been eating extremely well and the exact opposite of my 1st.
Go figure!

It does. It really does. I gained 50+lbs in my pregnancy, and keep in mind, I walked 2-3 miles a day until the last 2 or 3 weeks of my pregnancy, and I ate very well throughout! And, I have a small frame, I'm 5'4, so 50lbs is a LOT for me. I ended up weighing more than DH.
But, too, I lost all of the pregnancy weight within about 3 months. So, please, please please try not to worry about the weight. You can't control it, and more likely than not, it WILL come off.

i agree!- and i am the one who freaked out last night and posted about my 12 lb. weight gain this month.... i know this is a special time and that the weight will come off. i just panicked last night thinking that there are 4 mos. to go and i'm already up there. today i am feeling better about it and am really going to try to focus on being healthy for the baby and not worry so much.

Re: Spin off to all the "OMG! Weight Gain!" Posts...
Agreed!
I have to say, though, I have been struggling with loosing weight since after college & this is the first time since then that I am "allowed" to eat more and am expected to gain weight & I am having a hard time putting it on! I am 26 weeks & as of last night's doctor visit, I have gained 6 lbs! Oh well - I guess it will be better for me once the baby is here to return to my old self & trying to loose weight!

I agree - I went thru my little tantrum a few wks ago, and then all of a sudden, my thinking shifted.
I'm enjoying being pregnant now, and looking pregnant - I know I will lose the weight after because I'm not a big eater, and love to work out.... I decided to just enjoy this time in my life - especially realizing I only have 8 wks to go!!!!

So enjoy each and every pound and embrace each one with another cookie, piece of candy, pizza, tub of ice cream, bag of potato chips, or whatever your "poison" may be!!!
Here's to US!!!! (and our babies!!!)
