Spin off to Doing the Deed

So honestly.. how often have you been doing the deed since you were pregnant? How of then did you do it before? (Not including the "trying phase").

My DH is always complaining about how NOT often we do the deed and sometimes I think he just complains too much but sometimes I feel bad!

I am 12 weeks and for the first 8 weeks I was SO gassy that DH went without. He BARELY complained...he knew I was suffering.

We're on an every 2 week cycle, I am either too exhausted or have no desire. He's fantastic and very, very supportive.

Prior to TTC we were every week and sometimes 2x's....not quite rabbits but satisfied.

I guess I should have answered first! This is pretty much us too, although prior to TTC 2x's a week was a stretch, mostly 1x a week.

sore subject for me. we never do it enough, before or during, IMO. I'd say 1x a week before (not including trying), and maybe now 4 times the entire time I've been pregnant (35 weeks) Chat Icon Chat Icon

I think he just doesn't want to come near me.

Same

Now in my 3rd tri the thought exhausts me. I feel huge, I'm exhausted and I just don't feel right. DH is great! No complaints. I try and help him out here and there. Chat Icon

Re: Spin off to Doing the Deed

I am 20 weeks tomorrow and we haven't BD since we conceived....1st trimester I was way too tired and sick..this trimester have just been too busy doing house construction...we were going to on vacation in mexico but there were too many distractions (i.e. when we wanted to something went wrong...i.e. toilet was clogged and had to wait for maintenance and had a reservation to make, ect.)...

But I was never a real "sexual" person before we tried to conceive...hubby complained when we were on the every other day plan for conceiving that it was too much Chat Icon ...id say maybe twice a month before we tried to conceive was generous Chat Icon I know we are bad...but we love each other and give each other emotional love and that is all that matters

Re: Spin off to Doing the Deed

Before pregnancy, we'd do it 3-5 times a week...sometimes more, sometimes less, but that was average.

During this pregnancy, it's definitely been less, but at least once a week. I was throwing up everyday 1st trimester, and lately I've been so exhausted (so has he because of work), so it's usually been once or twice a week. I miss doing it more :(

Haven't done the actual deed since we ound out I was preg...I'm 34 weeks now. Chat Icon
During sec tri trust me I felt like I was the one complaining we weren't doing it lol. Dh has been great though he was totally paranoid we wld hurt the baby or something ...we had a miscarriage in 08 cause of an infection nothing to do with Chat Icon Just some freak thing ...so I respected how he felt n didn't push it ( too much ). Now with being on bedrest n going into pre term lbor at 29 weeks I'm glad we didn't .

I must say though I'm secretly lil jealous of all the Chat Icon U ladies have been doin...well just have to try to catch up after Chat Icon arrives .

Re: Spin off to Doing the Deed

I am only 6 weeks but i am currently on restiction. we did ivf and were told no bding after the transfer but we went on progestrone about 2 weeks before that. And since its so mess i haven't wanted to anyway. I have no idea when we will be aloud to again. I have to ask the doctor. But to be honesty with all the stress of infertility and being on progestrone suppositries, i am not in the mood and have not been in the mood for months. So we have probably been dtd once a month for the last few months. and nothing at all for the last 8 or 9 weeks.

Re: Spin off to Doing the Deed

These posts make me feel better... I've been feeling sooooo guilty that DH has been "on his own" lately. Our last time doing anything was maybe 3 weeks ago? Before getting pregnant, it was maybe once a week, which is less than what DH would like.

I'm really not in the mood... EVER. I was never one to start the BD before I was pregnant... now I'm REALLY not. With all the complications (m/s, UTI, back pain, preterm labor, etc.) my DH is pretty darn understanding. He makes the occasional joke/comment about not getting any lately, but he really totally understands. I even joked that he can vocally drool over the hot chick (Brooklyn Decker) from "Just Go With It" since I'm giving him nothing lately and he really appreciated my acknowledging that fact instead of us just tip toeing around the obvious.

I really do want to "be there for him" in any way... but being on bedrest, it's just not happening. But we have grown so close emotionally through all this and love each other so much more than ever which makes me happier than I could imagine, thank God.

Re: Spin off to Doing the Deed

We are once or twice a week before getting pregnant, then only once in the first tri (i was just too sick), then ALL.THE.TIME in the second tri! I was feeling much better and always in the mood. Now 3rd tri, only once so far. we tried the other night and it just wasnt working...I think we are done until 6 weeks post partum unfortunately.

@ 29 weeks it's only been 3x since we found out! Chat Icon

DH said "Well, you're not exactly jumping on me. And besides, It's weird. It's just not YOUR body anymore."

When I think about it I miss it, but, in all honesty, I have had 0% desire since BFP!

Re: Spin off to Doing the Deed

prior to being pregnant it was 2x-3x a week. and we weren't actually "trying" since it was a big surprise when I found out I was pregnant,.
Since becomming pregnant, I think we have done it maybe 4-5 times the whole pregnancy.
I'm just never in the mood, it hurts, and I don't want to be bothered, plus I feel weird doing it thinking the baby feels it or something.
DH is fine with it cuz he feels the same way.

1x a week before getting PG
about 1x per week and a half now. But it's getting progressively longer in between as he's getting increasingly freaked out by the belly.

Re: Spin off to Doing the Deed

We were 2-3 timers before. In the 1st trimester we only DTD 1x toward the end of it after getting the BFP, but that was mostly due to my being exhausted and sick. Now we're about 1x a week, I'm 20 weeks.

Re: Spin off to Doing the Deed

before TTC prob. about 1-2 times per week

during the first trimester, 0 times. I was soooooo not into it and being on messy progesterone made me feel disgusting!!

now we are in the second trimester and have gotten closer to normal. i would say about 1-2 times every 2 weeks. i have personally felt my drive go way up compared to the 1st tri.
