SPin off to NOT sleeping - Long

Well for the past few weeks Sara is not sleeping well. I cant even get her to fall asleep until close to 9:00. I am so tired. DH is actually taking her for a car ride right now. I just dont know what to do. To make matters worse, when I did try to put Sara in her crib tonight she climbed right out. . I didnt expect to put Sara in a bed so young. SHe is only 20 months old. My DS was in his crib untill almost 3 years old. My mom todl me to try the Ferber method - yeah right not when they climb out of the crib .

Does anyone have any suggestions. I am going to get a toddler bed this week.

did you try to lay on the floor with her in the room??? how are her naps during the day??? you might need to take away a nap or dont let her sleep soo late. My mens went into there big boy beds last week they will be 18 months on thurs. becasue my one boy was trying to climb...i would lay on the floor between them until the fell alseep... now i lay them down they stay put and go to sleep.

I did not try laying down on the floor with her, that will be my next step . I will have to ask the babysitter how long she naps during the day - maybe she can cut it shorter. I defintely have a little one that will go through terrible twos .

She may not like sleeping in the crib anymore. My mom said I would in a bed around 1 1/2 b/c I HATED the crib. If she is crawling out, it's time to put her in a bed.
