Re: Spin-off to Pledge of Allegiance (totally non-drama, just a question I promise!)
I went to Catholic school all the way through, and we said it every day. I observed in public school for a couple of years (middle schools and high schools) on Long Island, and I'm pretty sure I remember it being said.

Posted by MandJZ I am not American and therefore did not feel it was my place to become involved in the other thread. I am a Canadian, married to an American and living and working in New York.
Completely off topic but wanted to say I envy you being canadian. I want to move there eventually but thinking it will be impossible.

I went to private school for most of my school career and they did not say it there. I only said it for the short time I attended a public school. I have a feeling that most private schools don't say it (I had friends at other private school who didn't say it either) and that it is mostly done in public schools.

I spent my first few years in catholic school. There we stood, turned to the flagf and recited the pledge every morning. We also started and ended the day with prayers, and prayed at lunch. It was very regimented.
I have a vague memory that when I was in public elementary school we would start the day in the auditorium and recite the pledge.
We never once did it in HS. (NYC Public School)
