Spin-off to secret posters
WHEN you get a BFP...do you plan on creating an alias?
I think I have to...I have three very good friends on this site (outside of LIF/LIW land).  Sorry girls! I'll feel silly doing it...but how the hell am I gonna keep it in?
And geez how do I hold that information in for twelve weeks from EVERYBODY?!?! Including family? Is that really typical or do people make exceptions?
I'm always WAY ahead of myself...

im not going to make a secert name when i get my BFP im bad at keeping things in and the whole world is going to know im PG lol i thought about it and there is no one on here that i dont want to know and would get back to my family before i told them.

I'll probably be the only one, but.. no. I had a MC last month, and there are a couple ladies on here who have been helping me out with it. I don't want them to have to remember another name too. I'll just use my normal name

I made a fake name for all of a week, just till my family knew!! Then I was out to everyone!!
I'm not any good at secrets so there was no way in hell that i could keep it from my family/friends for 12 weeks!! Plus my mom would've been really hurt if i didnt tell them right away!

Hey Tara............now you're going to make it hard on me to figure it out!!!!
Just an FYI.......and you know me so you can appreciate this......there was NO earthly way for me to shut up for 12 weeks when I found out. Impossible!! We told everyone in stages.
We told our parents, siblings, and close friends right away (literally minutes after POAS), we told our extended family (aunts/uncles/cousins) at 9 weeks, and we told people at work at 12 weeks after we had our Ultra Screen. It was great having some people know because you're SO excited and you want to share it all with someone so it made it more bearable to contain myself by telling everyone in stages.

No! I am NOT superstituous and i do not believe that telling people before 12 wks is going to result in a m/c anymore than not telling.
Plus, ive been on TTC boards since Jan and i have been thru alot w/ so many of the girls on here so i will be THRILLED to announce the good news

No, I don't see the point. While I realize some of you have IRL friends and family on here, I still think you can come on here and chat as usual without telling anyone you are PG, and you can also ask questions and do searches for info until you are ready to make your announcement. I will be glad to share my bfp here and if something goes wrong, I know I will get many shoulders to cry on.

I didnt think i would. but i am going too. After having my m/c. my fh and i both decided we are not telling anyone until we are 12 weeks, and people that i dont see often i am not gonna tell them until i am farther along than that. i am a chicken.
