Hey listen, if modern technology can give you a baby and you can handle it and give it a good loving home...I don't think any age is too old if you feel that you can do it!

hey, if you can do it, rock on. I know myself (I'm only 26, almost 27). I would like to have my children all before age 36. That is just my own thoughts.

Re: Spin off to the 60 year old giving birth to to twins
If I had married who I thought I was going to marry 10 years ago, Id be done having kids by now. But I married at 35 and having children before marriage was not an option. I never thuoght i would have the issues I am having, and it is likely I wont have my first child until I am close to 38. I did not want it this way, but that is how it is. I never wanted to have a child past 40 years old, but the way things are going right now, I would have to work pretty darn fast to get two in within 3 years from right now as I turn 37 this summer.
Keep in mind that women are much healthier and knowledgeable than they were when we were born. My mom was 38 when she had me, but not a very healthy 38. I am much healthier now than she was then.

Re: Spin off to the 60 year old giving birth to to twins
This is a tough question... I think the line should be drawn when the life of the mother and the child are at a high risk.. and one should also take into consideration the quality of life one will be able to give a child. Its one thing to give birth at 40 or 45 and be around 60 when your child graduates high school, but totally another to give birth at 60 and be around 80 for the same milestone...

Re: Spin off to the 60 year old giving birth to to twins
Honestly, this is really your choice.
I got married young (the 1st time), "wasted" a lot of time in a bad relationship. Got divorced in my early 30's. Met a wonderul man when I was 35. Got married at 36. Got PG at 37.
Am I old? yes, for some people's standards.
But you know what, DH and I always wanted children. Would DH and I wish we had children before? YES. But it was never the right person or right timing. I don't think having children in the wrong situation is good either. So, here we are. Baby is due in a few weeks. I will be turning 38 in a few months.
We are both happy. Some may call us selfish.. blah blah blah. We can't wait for our little baby boy to come.
If the timing is right, you are happy with DH and you are both on the same page... GO FOR IT!!!!
