Spin-off to vacinne questions
I feel like I am the only one that trusts the doctors and get my kids vaccinated without question. At this point there is no real scientific evidence that supports Autism cases as a result of vaccines, so honestly, the thought never crossed my mind to NOT get my kids vaccinated.

Re: Spin-off to vacinne questions
I trust my doctor implicitly as well. Of course, I also do my own research, but in this case with the vaccines, there is as much a link between autism and vaccines as autism and them starting to drink water.... I always do my own research for everything, even when I trust someone, but I have never had a reason to not trust my ped. We've done all the shots on the schedule he recommended, and no negative side effects.

Re: Spin-off to vacinne questions
I do trust my dr but then I have that little voice in my head saying but what if. So I figured why take the chance right now.
I will be giving him all vaccines just later then they suggest.

Re: Spin-off to vacinne questions
Hmmm, well I'm an attorney, and I have a somewhat extensive background in medical malpractice, so, while I absolutely adore my pediatrician, and searched for months to find someone we feel is capable, the truth is, I trust nobody.
With that said, whenever there is an issue that's even remotely questionable, I do extensive research on my own, and then make an appointment with him to discuss, knowledgeably. Most times he and I are on the same page - on the rare occasion that we aren't, DH and I decide on our own what we feel most comfortable doing.
There are some risks to vaccinations, as with anything, and those risks aren't just the questionable link to autism. But, the benefit that my child receives from the vaccinations, and from avoiding some nightmarish childhood diseases that are easily fatal, far outweigh the vaccination risks for us, and that's why we opted to have them.

Re: Spin-off to vacinne questions
We do, but to be totally honest one of the doctors at our practice is related to my best friend, so I know that they are treating my kids as though they are a neice or nephew.
I don't get preferrential treatment at the office, I have the same wait and all, but I do get extra follow up calls at home when we are going through things, and the doctor asks my friend all the time how the kids are.
