yea my brother told me he read it somewhere but it didnt say how just something about being in the hospital with pnemonia. but they didnt say that killed him

I read somewhere that he suffered from a form of cancer that killed other family members as well. But I cant recall where I read it so I dont know if it was a rumor or now, most sites on the Internet give very little in the way of details.

Woah. I was so freaked out watching this episode - where he talks about how his parents didn't make it to 43 and here he was celebrating his 44th b/day. I can't believe he died.

On the first episode it said "Dedicated to Doug" and the dates of his birth and death. I was shocked!

I think you're right... he had the flu or something and then his kidneys shut down. He also said his parents died young so i'm not sure what they died of but maybe it's something hereditary?

Doug was born in Los Angeles to a middle-class family. He was the first to go to college in his family and put himself through school at the University of Southern California, deciding during his senior year that he wanted to be a trainer. The same year, he also came out to his parents.
Doug is energetic and experienced. He is a seasoned pro and when he's in the gym, he's in his element. Doug is a total manly man and uses his great physique and charm to befriend anyone he comes in contact with.
Update: We're very sorry to report that Doug Blasdell recently passed in January, 2007. Bravo released the following statement: "All of us at Bravo are deeply saddened by the terrible news of Doug Blasdell's untimely passing. He was an inspiring trainer, an exuberant colleague who made the gym a very fun place each and every day and was extraordinarily warm in all aspects of his life. Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to his many friends and colleagues at this very difficult time."

His partner had kidney failure, not AIDS and Doug had Brain Cancer and was undergoing chemo for that which could have resulted in his pneumonia via the weakening of his immune system. So Sad, I liked him.

Whats so sad is that last nites show said how his mom and dad didnt make it past age 43 and thats why he was so depressed about his b-day, turning 44.
Then he says on show, this is my last b-day! (without knowing of course and it was)
So sad!
