Spinoff - cheating (no brains)

If you have cheated (obviously before your SO) what made you cheat and did you come clean with it before others found out?

Re: Spinoff - cheating (no brains)

I've cheated on my ex way back in college. Dated him for close to two years and I kind of got bored with him...(considering his was my 2nd serious bf). I never told him but he eventually found out and it wasn't pretty. However, I don't regret it.

Re: Spinoff - cheating (no brains)

hmmm....I was 15 and moved...left one BF back in my old town and started dating someone in the new school without breaking up with the old BF. I was always told to never have one BF at a time that way I'd have my pick. (Grandma's wisdom for ya)

I never cheated in the sleeping sense, just dating someone else at the same time really.

Re: Spinoff - cheating (no brains)

to be honest I cheated of BF's more times that I would like to admit...until I got a taste of my own medicine....I would never want to put anyone thorugh that kind of hurt and humilation.

Re: Spinoff - cheating (no brains)

I cheated on my ex-BF but also did not sleep with the other person until it was officially over with my ex.

The reason? Well...in hindsight, there were so many reasons although at the time I felt it was not justified at all (not that cheating is ever really justified) and I was just a horrible person. One reason is because things we were at different places in our lives and I felt that we had grown apart a great deal. We behaved more like brother and sister with each other than GF and BF. Also, I knew the ring was just around the corner and I started panicking. I guess I deep down I knew he wasn't the one although I had been trying to fool myself into thinking he was all those years.

Although I wish it hadn't happened the way it did, I also don't really regret it because the man I cheated on my ex with is now my husband.

ETA: I forgot to add how it all ended. No I never came clean and broke up with him before he found out but he found out later on (while he was still trying to get me back) and it was NOT pretty. I would NEVER EVER do it again.

I did, once. The relationship was over - I just hadn't gotten around to telling him yet. I did break up with him the next day but never shared that I went out on a date the night before.

Yes, I have cheated (not ever on DH). When I was like 15 I had two boyfriends at one time. One from my neighborhood, and one from Brooklyn. Where I hung out, the guys hated the guys from Brookly, which made it so much fun. Chat Icon

Why: I was young and stupid and neither of them were serious relationships.Chat Icon

I never cheated - I was cheated on by my first serious boyfriend though. Too bad I had a feeling and called him out on it and he denied it. I found out 3 years later the real truth and that was the end of the relationship - I was young (18) but still......I have no tolerance for that!

Re: Spinoff - cheating (no brains)

I never cheated..honestly. I was cheated on once when I was 16, which didn't really bother me now that I think about it because I was only 16.

However my ex-fiance cheated on me and that hurt more than anything.

Why cheat? Break up with the person first.
