spinoff - rude things people have said to you!
I was just thinking about the obnoxious comments I have gotten from others and wondered if you remember them too??
Dh and I lived together for a couple of years before we got married and people who looked down on it would actually say things about - my favorite rude comment was "Why would he buy the cow when he can get the milk for free?"
now this question just cracks me up, but I could not and cannot believe that people would ask me that!

Re: spinoff - rude things people have said to you!
the rudest thing anyone has ever said to me is
"why isn't your mother here wedding dress shopping with you?"
3 months after my mom died- like she would have miss that if you she was still alive
some people just don't think- needless to say- I didn't buy a dress from them

Re: spinoff - rude things people have said to you!
I am tall and have no problem wearing heels. A few months ago, a co-worker saw me in the morning, looked at my heels and said to me "Ugh - people like you shouldn't wear heels". Like I have control of my height. She's probably mad that she doesn't even break 5 feet tall in her highest heels.
I didn't even have a snappy comeback for this. Now when we pass each other in the halls, I don't even look at her.

OMG the same exact thing happened to me-It was at the wedding place on Northern Blvd in Mashasset-the old yenta who worked there was like"where's your mom? why wouldnt you take her with you" I ignored her the first time, but she kept asking-My sister in law saw my face and pulled me out of the place so quick-when we got into the car I just burst into tears-more out of anger than saddness! that was the last thing I needed-as if dress shopping w/out my mom wasnt difficult enough! Some people are so ignorant!

Re: spinoff - rude things people have said to you!
I was 8 or 9 months pregnant and I was waddling to Stop and Shop. These 2 guys were looking at me and laughing to each other. One of the guys was bald and they were about my age...maybe a little bit older. As I walked past them, the bald guy said to me, wow...that's some belly. He proceded to crack up with his friend like I was the only pregnant women in the world. I turned around and said to him...my belly goes away after 9 months...what about that bald head?
His friend laughed at him then.
Idiots.

As someone who lost her mom at a very young age and did most of my wedding dress shopping alone, I am so glad I didn't wind up at that place
Ladies, I'm truly sorry

Re: spinoff - rude things people have said to you!
At my bridal shower. A guest (on my MIL's side!) asked me how old I was. I said 27. She goes, "Wow. Girls get married so much older these days."
What in hell????
When my skin used to be bad and break out, I definitely got stupid comments from stupid family members.
Also, gown shopping. At a certain store in Manhassett. I walk in w/my mom and right away the saleslady asks how much we want to spend. I look at my mom and say maybe $2K? The woman goes, "Nothing here is under 5. You should go to David's Bridal. I'll let you try something on, but I don't want you to fall in love."
EXCUSE ME? Okay, me and Mom will just go on back to the trailor park! I mean, I thought that was so mean. We left we were so insulted. I hope she saw us pull out in my mom's Mercedes. Loser.

Re: spinoff - rude things people have said to you!
This is terrible but BOTH of these comments were from my COUSIN!
DH and I got pretty serious pretty quickly, so soon after I met him I guess I was gushing about him a bit and she says "You know, as quickly as this all started, it could just end"
So not long after that I introduced her to my friend at my birthday party and she said, right in front of the poor guy, "Oh, that's great, he's your token gay friend and your token black friend all in one." I was mortified!
Needless to say, it was our relationship that ended quickly after that!!!

The rudest comment I have received was "Wow, black women have come a long way for you to be wearing such quality e-ring and wedding band. So what does your husband and you do for a living?"
I mean freaking pathetic. Every time I think about this comment I get very angry.

Re: spinoff - rude things people have said to you!
I am absolutely disgusted at these comments!
People need to think before they speak.
I started a new job in a hassidic company and I brought in my wedding pictures one day. They were ewwwwing and ahhing over them and one girl turns to me and says. " Oh my! You were so thin!!!!!!! What happened?"... ummm, I had a baby? I was only about 126-128 at this time as opposed to under 120....
I just it was ok coming from a 18 year old girl who didn't even weight 100lbs with her clothes on-and the lack of social contact with anyone who was outside of their community until me...I just hope when she has her kids she gets REAL fat!

If it was anyone else I'd say yes, but when a guy calls you his hag, I'd say it's a compliment

- seriously?!?! w t f
I've had some pretty rude/mean things said to me, mostly by my family...I actually can't share them because they really hurt me.
I also had a comment from someone else the other day that made me so uncomfortable... she was talking about being plus-sized and having a hard time findind a particular item of clothing - she POKED ME IN THE GUT and said "It ain't easy for us Big Girls, is it?"
I actually went into the bathroom and looked in the mirror, because I didn't realize that my body put me in the "Big Girls" category with this speaker, who normally wears a size 22. I've never been above a 12 my whole life - and I'd never felt FATTER than I did after that comment.

.....oh and I can't forget the wedding vendor - a very popular LIW florist that people raaaaave about- that stood me up for my appointment (he was leaving as I was walking in, because he was TIRED ), and on his way out the door, his female co-worker asked what my budget was....when I told her my budget, she said, "you're in the wrong place. Try stop and shop."

I was in AC moore around Xmas time and the woman said to me " Oh excuse me, where did you get you eyelashes?" I said "haha oh thanks, but they are mine" she then replied with "well if you dont want to tell me, fine" Um excuse me miss thing.

I just looked at her ( who by the way is about 300 lbs, her DH about 350 and her daughter is around 350 also) I said no Im just fat thanks and that was incredibly rude of you to say, I havent seen her or her obnoxious family since. I know I gained weight but c'mon, I dont look PG.

Re: spinoff - rude things people have said to you!
Our very first dog we adopted from North Shore Animal League. There was something seriously wrong with him, he hated my FH and ****** all over the place and would lash out for no reason. We ended up having to take him back because he took a nasty chunk out of my mom's arm and we couldn't risk him doing that to anyone else... to say the least, even though he was a pain, it was the hardest thing we've ever had to do.
A few weeks after that we got Cooper and were so excited. So I went into work the next day saying how we got a dog and that he's so cute and so great and one of my co-workers says to me "Oh are you going to return him in three weeks just like you did with Scooter or are you actually going to give this dog a chance."
I was so upset and so shocked by this comment, I just turned around without saying a word and went into the bathroom and just cried. F(&*ING B(&%*@^tch
