I got married at 29, two months shy of being 30.
While I have no regrets, I sometimes wish I got married a year or two earlier, so I could have had my kids a little younger. In the scheme of things, 2 or 3 years might not have made a huge difference, but I often think about it, so it must mean something to me.
I feel the same way, except I was 31

Its not like I had a choice. Nobody asked me until I was 35. COINCIDENTALLY, I was ready. I could have brow-beaten an ex boyfriend to propose but I'd probably be a divorced single mom right now and looking back, Im glad we split up. Most of the men I dated in my 20s were truly not in any position to get married - not in terms of finance, but in terms of maturity. Not all men are this way, just the gems I dated.
DH and I did not have a long courtship - 13 months. I think as people get older, the courtships are shorter. My parents dated for 6 weeks and had a 49 year marriage. Granted they dated in 1956, but back then, a single woman at 25 had the same odds of marrying as I did in 2006 at 35. My sister dated her DH for 6 months (she was 33) and she is married for 17 years.
Having done more dating and siphoning out the "bad eggs" I felt that I knew what I wanted a relationship and more importantly, what I DIDN'T want.
I'm not even going to fashion my own response. I could have written this word for word (minus the siblings part). DH and I dated for 13 months when we got engaged and were married 9 months later
same here - I was 36 when we got married. We dated for 11 months, got engaged and then marries 6 months later. When you are older, you know what you want, and more importantly what you don't want in a spouse, and when you find it, why wait?

Re: Spinoff: Age and getting married
I was 23 and think that it was perfect. We had been dating since I was 18 and got engaged at 20. We had a 2.5 year engagement.
Getting married young has meant that we can spend 5 or so years enjoying being married before having children and I will still be under 30 when we start TTC.

Re: Spinoff: Age and getting married
I was 24. Some of me says I should have waited and finished school, but, the rest of me is so happy I did it. I love DH so much and together we have accomplished some of what we have wanted to.

Re: Spinoff: Age and getting married
We got engaged when we where both 24 and had planned originally to get married one year later. Well, we waited two years, and got married at 26. I am glad we waited 2 years. It was a perfect age for both of us. I would of never of gotten married any younger. I was having way too much fun in my early 20s.

Re: Spinoff: Age and getting married
I was 25.
I think it was an ok age for me but if I had to change anything at all, I would have started ttc to a little earlier because it took us a while. I would have wanted to be on baby number 2 by now but I dont have many regrets.
