SPINOFF- can we talk about STRANGER anxiety?

DD is 5 months and has this. A little soon (I think) but the DR. said that is absolutely what it is. She's had it for about 2-3 weeks now. When she sees someone other than DH or I she starts to wimper and then a big cry. After awhile, she warms up. For example, this Sun. was her baptism. MIL and one of DH friends with their kids came over before (we only see all of them, including MIL, about 2 times a month). DD started crying HYSTERICALLY for 20 mins or so until they left to go to the church. When we got to the church, she had calmed down and was GREAT for mass (and to everyone else around by then). What gives? How can I help this? Or, is it just a phase. I am a SAHM and with the winter I don't take her out too much, just hoping it gets better...

Definitely a phase. My older one was soooo bad with strangers when he was a baby. You would not believe how he goes up to people today to chat everyone up! (he's almost 4)
