Spinoff: do you and you SO like the explore Long Island or NYC?
DH and I spend hours a week just walking to explore Manhattan. We are curious by nature and will drive to random spots on the island and explore a little. We are both city people but know the 5 boroughs really well (ok so not Staten Island lol,.) We will read about an area, town, park, beach, farm stand, etc and go seek it out. I'm happy that DH is like me. We're always discovering something new. How about you and your SO? Are you the same/different as far as how adventurous you are in exploring uncharted territory?

All the time. We love to roam, and often venture off LI and into the neighboring states for weekend trips.
I just LOVE seeing new places. I'd pick a road trip over a cruise of beach vacay ANY DAY.

Yes, we love to drive around & check things out. We used to do it alot more when we lived on Long Island.

I suppose I am some sort of freak because I really have no interest in the city. On occasion when I do go to the city I want to get in and get out as fast as possible. But I do like to explore eastern LI. DH is mostly the same way.
I had to go to manhattan for a meeting with my boss a few years ago. The meeting was 1 block from penn. we had to take a can because I had a panic attack when I got off the train. I can't stand all the pushing and shoving when I am in the city.

I love living in the city and do as much exploring as I can. My bf is the same way. We have only been dating in the cold months though so are looking forward to checking out new things once the weather gets nicer.
I'm from LI and can't say I have a major interest in exploring the island.

We do the same type of exploring but in the mountains. We love to hike and are always looking for new trails and challenges.

Absolutely. I was born and raised in Queens and still live in the borough...I've been commuting to Manhattan on a daily basis since I was 13 and there is still so much to see in Manhattan that I have yet to explore. I know most of the island like the back of my hand - Queens as well. And most of Brooklyn.
I've discovered so many new places this way, and have mourned the loss of a great business, restaurant, venue this way.
We have ventured out to LI as well, but not as frequently as we check out places in the boroughs. One of these days I'll make it out to the vineyards. 
I love just getting off the subway at a random stop and discovering places.

Yes. From March- October we are always out doing random things or visiting random places.. Especially when we can bring our dog with us.
From November-February we talk about all the places we want to go, but are usually too turned off by the weather to execute!

We live in eastern Suffolk, I know most Suffolk very well and some of Nassau. I do enjoy visiting areas I'm not familiar with. We also have an apartment in manhattan and I know our neighborhood really well but I'm kinda lst outside of it. I LOVE to explore, DH is not as excited. I could easily spend an entire day walking around in the city or driving around on LI.

Yes! We love going out east, north and south fork and also into the city... but only in the warmer months... I go into hibernation mode in the winter and other than work it takes a major event to get me to leave the house.

I'm obsessed with exploring the city. I love photography and going on photo hunts so that's probably why.
My new DSLR is arriving today and we have already made plans to hit up DUMBO and Highline.
A lot of times I go back to the same spots because in NYC, there is ALWAYS something new happening. LOL
My fav. LI spot is Montauk. I'll photograph the same beach 1 million times and never get tired of it.

We don't always make a point of exploring, as our plans usually involve a destination, but when we have the opportunity, I really enjoy exploring. A couple of years ago, for our anniversary, we took a drive out to the Hamptons (I grew up in Staten Island, and had never been), and had a great time exploring the towns. I adore exploring Manhattan and just walking around a neighborhood.

Yes, when we lived on LI, definitely. I went into the city more than he did but we love to just drive around, or pick a new place and explore.
Now that we are off LI, we try to visit new cities on a regular basis that are closer to us than they were before. We LOVE road trips.
