Spinoff: Do your parents get along with your ILs?
They're cordial when we get together for an occassion, but they really don't have anything in common. I prefer it this way because if my parents spent more time with my ILs, they would know what wackos they really are, especially my MIL.

my parents have never met my FIL. I hope they never meet. My parents met MIL at the wedding. So much was going on that day, I really don't think they even spoke that much.

Yes, my mom and MIL get along great! Actually, my IL's are closer in age to my grandparents than to my mom. My FIL and grandfather are like old friends when they get together.

I think my MIL has something against my parents, or more like she has a complex. I just feel bad for my mom because she asked me if my MIL was mad at them about something. My parents sent a Christmas card to them and my ILs didn't send them one, and my parents had me give some things to my MIL and she never called my parents to thank them. I think my MIL is a total fake and two faced. She talks about everyone and anyone and gets mad and holds grudges against children. She's just a total beotch.

My MIL is VERY nice to my grandmother (little old lady who was born in Italy), but isn't very polite to my mother.
Sometimes I think my MIL thinks that since she's older than my mom, my mom should bow down to her.
She's not outright rude, but I wish she'd treat my mother as well as she treats my grandmother.

My parents and my ILs really hit it off, which surprised me a little (though I didn't worry that they'd dislike each other). Both sets are really different and my ILs are about 15 years older than my parents. But they really like each other, my mom and my MIL talk on the phone every week long distance!

We are very lucky. My Mom and his parents get along very well. They are actually closer to my sister and her husband's ages, so everyone gets along.

I agree 100% my MIL has been a total crazy person sometimes & she's put me through $h!t so my parents don't really like her. They are cordial but don't go out of the way to build a relationship, on either ends.

We live across the street from each other (we arent married yet), so they get along together pretty good! His father will come over for a beer....his mother will come over to go in the pool....and yea, they hang out!

They don't see each other much bc my parents live in NY and IL live in Chicago. But they do get along. Whenever I talk to my parents they always ask about the ILs and vice versa.

wow!i'm surprised at how many of your parents get along with your ILs. I didn't think this ever happened, mine don't get along at all, but they're cordial to each other. Wait til you have kids, it really changes the scenario. Life would be a lot easier if everyone just got along.

NOPE. My dad told my MIL to F*ck Off at the end of our wedding because they were leaving without saying goodbye Or thank you for hosting and paying for their son's wedding.

unfortunately...my dad did not say this...but it was thought about after the reception, and is still thought of until this day, almost a year later....
