thanks for those links! Bethpage has a tower - but they have high rates, so I guess that theory is wrong.
$33 for 20 gallons seem expensive to me...I usually can find the Dannon Flouride for $1/gallon on sale - but I guess you are also paying for delivery
not only delivery but the convenience of it coming out ice cold or boiling hot from the taps. I am seriously thinking about doing this when we move!

Do you guys think filters work? I told DH about this last night (he is not from LI) and he FREAKED out. He said that I should never drink the water again. So we are thinking about PS.
Although I went to Waldbaums today - $1 for a 6 pack of 24oz sports bottles!! (It comes out to 1 gallon and 1 pint)

that is a good deal
you get a discount on sports bottled thru PS if you get it delivered-
and it comes right to your door- which for me is priceless b/c I live on the 3rd floor of a building- and even to carry it in from our driveway is long trip

I live in #11 on the list but the water is so putrid you would never just drink out of the tap.
I couldn't survive without my Britta filter.

I looked at the chart by zip. Very scary!!
My BIL has the cooler unit from Costco and gets his water there. I guess if you hit Costco on a regular basis it's a good deal.

Ah, it is a special in their flyer..with a purchase of $25. great sale. It expires at the end of the month. I can't see if there is a limit though. I would go there and stock up!

Actually, if you want to get technical, this covers "Metro Atlanta" which is HUGE and the entire state is highlighted. So if you compare it (and compound) with the numbers for Nassau, Suffolk and NYC (all of which are so high that they merit their own little "chunk") it's not bad where I live at all!  
Even still, our fridge has a built in PUR filter and we don't drink the water.
