Spinoff: Has anyone recently taken the vision test at DMV?

If so, what do they make you do? Each eye separately, or together? Are you expected to read the bottom line tiny print?

They pick a random line and tell you to read it. I don't remember them saying with one eye or both. They told the person next to me to read the line above my line.

I just took one on Friday - they asked if I wore glasses or contacts while driving, pointed to the first line and said "read it" - with both eyes. Whole process took less than 2 minutes.

Both eyes and they randomly pick a line for you to read. Also they make you take a new picture for your license

I took it here in Texas (dont know if its different) Just made me look into a lil machine and read a line.

It was super quick.

ETA: Thank god its both eyes, i have really bad sight from my right (much weaker) and without using my left I can't pass diddly. Then again I don't usually drive with only one eye My normal sight is also pretty bad so i never really get 20/20. My right is -7.5 and my left is -7. This is the easiest test I take in vision.

PS: i remembered when I took it in NY they made me look at the 'sheet' the one with the big E etc. but picked something pretty high and I was able to read it!
