spinoff: how long after they take their first steps do they fully start walking?

As my crazy post from yesterday DD FINALLY took 7-10 unassisted steps yesterday like 10 times to DH...today she's crawling like her normal self and when I try to coax her to walk to me she laughs and goes down to crawl...LOL..she def is more apt to walk when DH is aroundChat Icon Anyway, how long after their first steps did your DC start to prefer to walk over crawl!

TIA

Liam it was pretty immediate. Once he found out he could walk, he stopped crawling. In fact, its RARE if he ever crawls now (usually only to get under our dining room table)

For us, about a month. She took 5-6 steps at a time for a month. Now that she took 15-20, she is going for it about 3 days ago (today is her 14 month birthday!).

ditto. He would walk a few steps, then fall down and continue crawling. then there was one night when he walked a few steps, fell down, picked himself up and walked the remainder of the way. DH and I looked at eachother and knew he was a Bipedal at that point! And he was!!!!Chat Icon

It took DS over a month after he took his first steps before he actually preferred walking over crawling.
