Re: Spinoff: How many of you are living paycheck to paycheck?
Up until this year when DH went to med school....no, never. We always had a significant amount of savings.....but once the steady "second" income stopped (I say it in quotes b/c I actually work three jobs), we lost a lot of money. So, for now, yes...we are living paycheck to paycheck (the savings ran out months ago). But, this too shall pass.

We do. If one of us loses our job, we are EFFED! Thats just the way it is for us, we dont have much of a choice. Our rent is pretty cheap compared to the going rate in the area as well. We just dont get paid enough.
I agree, that's why we are going back to school and in a few years we will be moving away.

Re: Spinoff: How many of you are living paycheck to paycheck?
At the moment we do and have been for almost two years. DH was in law school and didn't work his last year. During that time I was also unemployed for a few months and we exhausted all of our savings. He just passed the bar and is currently looking for a job. Once he finds something, we'll be back on track.

we don't, but if we buy a house... who knows?
that is the X factor for a lot of people. Once we bought our house we had very little left over. It took a while to get it to where it is now and that's not even a lot.
We are adding to our savings and investments every month and we have goals set. The goals get revised as our salaries and financial obligations change.

Right now, definitely, and we've already borrowed all of our wedding savings, etc because FH has had a hard time finding a job, and I make next to nothing. I think I literally spend more on work supplies as much or more than I make

Re: Spinoff: How many of you are living paycheck to paycheck?
In a way, sort of too. I have to pay $50 more a week for daycare from July-Jan so we are unable to save and have to cut down on things during those months. Once January comes, we can save at least a little bit and when I turn in my car lease, I will be able to save that entire amount per month. That will help us get some savings going.

Re: Spinoff: How many of you are living paycheck to paycheck?
We've been putting so much towards our savings each month that it feels like we live paycheck to paycheck (we're saving up for a house!).
