Spinoff: If you do not have children, do you send out photo cards?
Just wondering how everyone will do their holiday cards this year. Last year we had a photo of us in front of our new house which served as a moving announcement/happy holidays card.
Usually we get photo cards with kids. Do you usually send a non-photo card (hallmark style) or one with a photo of you guys on it?
I never really did holiday cards before last year and wondered if you're also supposed to write stuff in it - or just sign it?

I don't have kids anhd I ordered our cards from costco.com... DH has a big fam so this was easier for us

We send cards, but without pictures. Depending on who it is, we'll write something personal in it.
We won't do a picture card until we get our dogs.

Last year I sent out Christmas cards with a wedding pic on it but this year I am just doing regular cards.
I wanted to do one with a pic of the house that would serve as the holiday card/home announcement but DH refused to take a pic in front of the door with the Christmas wreath in October.  So I just bought regualr cards this year.

I never sent out photo cards until I had children. I sent regular holiday cards with our names on it AFTER we were married.
I would think it would be odd to send out a photo card of us to our friends - unless it was done as a joke.

yeah...Dave just LOVED doing this...and asking our neighbor to take it!!!

We send cards, but not photo cards.
Last year, I sent one to just about everyone who was invited to our wedding. This year's list will be much, much shorter.
To answer the OP's question -- I usually just write the addressees' names, something like "wishing you a wonderful new year" and sign our names.

We got one last year from one of DH's college friends and we both thought it was odd, especially since they got married in 2000 and this was the first year they sent out a photo card.

we dont have kids... but this year we decided to send out a photo pic of Dh, me and Boogie in front of our house, not everyone has seen it  maybe it has a little "cheese factor " to it, but I dont care

we did photo cards this year we had a friend take some casual/ engagement type shots of us on the beach this summer, and they came out too cute that i had to use them for something
shutterfly just started doing collage cards, so we took 4 of the pics and made a christmas card.
totally cheesy, i know... but we don't live close to really any of our relatives, so they like gettnig pics...

We do regular cards. I thought about doing a picture card with our cat, but for some reason I feel like people would think that was weird - even though people do it with dogs all the time.

OMG, I love this idea! I was trying to figure out how do incorporate a new home card with the Chrismas cards this year!

I alternate...last year we sent cards with Misty and Espresso on them, so this year we are doing Hallmark cards. I am not so sure the rest of the world wants to look at our animals every year
