Spinoff of sorts.. When you run into people from high school/old jobs/etc...
Do you always duck & hide, whether they were nice or not?
Do you offer a smile of acknowledgment but not talk to them?
Do you wait for them to acknowledge you?
I am a duck & hide person. I hate making small talk... "Oh, so what have you been up to the past 15 years?" ..yeah, I don't really care and I'm sure they don't either. It just doesn't seem natural to me.
Plus, I am shy and I also tend to believe that if I were meant to keep in touch with people, they'd be in my life right now.

Not anyone from school. If I recognize someone, chances are I'm already friends with them on FB so it wouldn't be weird.
Old jobs....yeah, I would. Only one in particular b.c its where I met my ex hub. and most of the (ex) friends I had while dating/married to him.

ITA. Mostly I'm the duck and hide, but in the rare event that it's someone I'm actually interested in seeing, I'd still probably wait for them to recognize me. I don't wear my glasses like I *should* so there have been many a case of mistaken identity for me.

i am embarrassed of myself currently so more often i hide.

def depends on who it is... if its someone from HS that i couldnt stand then i would avoid them like the plague
a few friends and i were recently in the city & as we were walking through penn station we saw this chick from HS that we used to hang out with (totally random place to see someone you know lol)
anyways, we were in a rush so didnt say hi, but if we werent we would have stopped

Depends on who it is. My school class had over 700 kids so many of them I may not even recognize.  If we were friends in high school I'd probably go over, give them a hug and say hi!
For old co-workers, there are a few I'd duck and hide (or move like dive behind the nearest solid object even if I had to plow over people to do so!!!) but most I'd say hi and some I'd hug and catch up with.

It depends on who it is and If I look presentable. There are many times I run out to get diapers and formula and look like a mess, if that’s the cause then I dodge them.

Depends....there have been times that I say hi & smile, maybe chit chat for a while. Sometimes I don't realize its them until I have already passed by. This actually happened to me last week. I was walking into BBB when a girl that I graduated w/walked out. I didn't recognize her until we had passed and I was already walking into the store.
If it is someone I couldnt stand in HS, chances are I'll do the old duck & hide

It depends, I duck and hide alot unless I'm feeling unusally chatty that day. I'm with the posters that say if they were meant to be in my life I'd still be speaking to them

Totally depends on who it is. But actually, funny story about this.......DH and I were at a wedding on Friday. We go to sit down at the table, and the guy who is sitting two seats away from DH, well I went to HS with him! AND he had a huge crush on me and I wouldn't give him the time of day! I was SO embarrassed.......but to make things even funnier.....the girl who was sitting with him (his wife), in between him and DH.......she went to HS with DH!!!!!!

It depends on who it was. I remember it was a few yrs after we were out of school. I went into mymoms job. She worked at this happening bar/rest and this guy I went to school was there with a few other people. I was on my way out to a club. I will say i looked pretty damn hot. Now when i was in hs, i was my heaviest and this kid never looked twice at me. He totally wasnt my type so i didnt care but we went to school our whole lives and he never said one word to me. So i go in see my mom say so long yada yada. Im talking to the bartender and did a quick shot the boy from hs comes over Nd starts chatting me up. I  and am decent to him. He then asks me if he could buy me a drink and telling me how fabulous i look and all the typical crap to follow. Well i must tell you the best revenge is looking great ( i was about 50 lbs thinner). I looked him straight in the face and said we went to school together for 15 years you never once looked or spoke to me, now you want to buy me a drink ? Thanks but im not that thirsty. And i strutted my hotasss self out.
The best feeling.
Sorry that was long and winded.
