Depends on the situation.. more times than not, I will smile at the person to initiate a greeting and if they respond to that then we'll catch up for a few.. otherwise I'll just assume they would rather not shoot the sh!t and I just go on my way

Depends on my relationship with them when I knew them.
If they treated me poorly, I will look them right in the face but not acknowledge them at all.
If it's someone I liked, I will generally go up and say hi.
If it's someone I was indifferent towards, I won't go out of my way to say hello but I won't hide either.
No matter what, if I look like crap at the moment, I might hope they don't see me!

its kind of hard to duck and hide now that most people from my past are now my facebook friends lol. we both clearly know what we look like now so theres no hiding unless you play the "im not paying attention to anything around me, im focused on playing with my cell" deal. lol

happened yesterday to dh and i. saw someone from the past. we ducked and hid until they left.

a couple of years ago i thought someone looked famililar but couldn't place them. turns out she was in my class in hs and we sat next to each other. she was dating my dh's friend at the time. seriously don't remember people half the time and people don't recognize me so i don't have to worry. dh on the other hand sticks out like a sore thumb.

I usually duck and hide if I am doing something important. Otherwise, I normally say hello if they approach me. I don't hardly approach people, unless they are really good friends of mine. I feel that people don't like to be bothered so I if they say hi I say hello, otherwise, I go on my merry way.

Funny that this thread came up. Just a week or so ago, someone called out my name. I turned around and thanked the FB gods that I had seen this person's picture and how he looks now (as someone I might know). I said hi and tried to make some upbeat small talk. I literally spoke maybe 5 words to him my whole life (but we went to a small school). He cut me off and says "Well, see you when I see you"

If you didn't want to have a conversation with me, WHY CALL MY NAME OUT?

It really depends on the person and whether I want to see them or not! A lot of times I will duck and hide!
