Spinoff of "What's Your Son's Name" Daughter's Name

I thought that was an awesome thread. If someone already did a "daughter" spinoff let me know.

So what is your daughter's name and how did you come to pick it?

Danika Ashlyn

Danika: Danica Mckellar (Winnie from the Wonder Years) I had no idea who Danica Patrick was until we picked this name out, lol!

Ashlyn: I love the name Aisling, but DH didn't, so I went with the American version.

Jade __ we love Jada Pinkettes name but it didnt sound right with our last name so we chose Jade

Lea __ We thought it was a little different without the H on the end

We picked Julia cause DH and I love the nickname Jules.

Middle name Shea because we are Mets fans!

Gracelyn Nicole

We loved the nickname Gracie & wanted something more than Grace. I thought Gracelyn sounded nice.

The Nicole we just thought went nice together...

DH didn't want to do middle names after our moms (in case we only had 1 girl)...didn't want hard feelings, etc.

Mya - DH heard the name on a baby show on TV and we both loved it...

Jacklynn - Jack was my grandpas name and Lynn is my middle name so we put them together :)

Elizabeth - I like long names, I like old names and I wanted a name that started with the letter E. And because Elizabeth was my grandmother's middle name.

Shea - someone else suggested it and we liked the way it sounded with Elizabeth. Plus, we're huge Mets fans.

Please keep in mind that Im a huge believer in middle names meaning something thing.....

Ariel Jae OK Ariel b/c I thought the Little Mermaid was just about the prettiest little thing I had ever seen...Jae b/c her brothers had died the year before and I wanted add something to her name for them..J is for Jonathen and A is for Andrew.

Alexis Deanna Faith Alexis b/c there was just the cutest little girl on Sesame Street named Lexi...Deanna is my mother..we'll get to Faith at the end of the post..

Jaedyn Luisa Hope Jaedyn b/c Will & Jada had a son when I was pregnant and I thought it was an awesome name...Luisa b/c that's Xs moms name...Hope see below

The twins middle names are Faith and Hope b/c I had lost a set of twins before Ariel...I had always always wanted to twins...so to be expecting twins again was just a miracle beyond miracles...So I added Faith & Hope because.."all you need is a lot of Faith and a little Hope" The girls names are also a "J" name and an "A" name for their older twin brothers...(their guardian angels)

Rebecca Mariam, we call her Becky , my DH and I looked for a long time and we both loved Rebecca-Becky, Mariam b/c where I come from( republic of Georgia) August 29th is ST . Mariam's day(ST.Mary) and that was Becky's original due date plus I wanted her to have a Geogian name ,too.

We chose Ella Elizabeth-Grace because Dh and I always love the name Ella and Elizabeth is my grandma's middle name and Grace is Dh grandma's first name.

Since high school I've always wanted to name my daughter this.

I've just always loved the name Izabella

Lucille was my Grandmother's name

Samantha Rose

Samantha after DH father (who passed away when DH was a child, his name was Samuel, but they called him 'Sammy'), we will be calling our DD 'Sammie'

Rose- DH named, b/c she is a delicate flower.

Fiona Mary~I picked this name well over 20 years ago. I always loved the name Fiona & Mary was my moms name.


Saoirse Eileen~I first heard the name Saoirse (Sear-Sha) when watching Jim Ryan on Good Day New York. (It's his daughters name) I just loved it. My husband wasn't going for it. Then my friend lent me an Irish names book & it was in there. So, I read him the meaning "Before Ireland was called Eire it was called Saoirse & it means Freedom" He loved it after that. LOL
Eileen was my MIL's name. It just so happened that I loved how it sounded together. And she was over the moon about it.

#1: Katherine Emer
Katherine was a name I always loved...so classic and beautiful. Plus, I like the nickname "Kate." Emer is an Irish name. I wanted something "traditionally" Irish and DH loved Emer. It was also the name of a character in a book we both liked.

#2: Abigail Bridget
DH chose Abigail in honor of Abigail Adams--you know, our 2nd First Lady! Bridget was my grandmother's name and the name I really wanted as Abby's first name.

Madeline Paige
Madeline is a family name- it's my mother's name, my grandmother's name, and my great-great grandmother's name.
Somehow me and my great-grandma got passed over
Paige- b/c i wanted something short to go with Madeline. Originally it was going to be Rose after my great-grandma, but for some reason everyone around me who has a DD used middle name of Rose, so that was out...

Ava Jacqueline - My husband's late mother was Jacqueline, but we didn't want to give our child a name that would be shortened, etc. (ie. Jackie) so we used it for the middle name & since her last name is also very long, we needed a short name, so Ava was perfect!

Taylor Nicole-

Dh and I were trying to find our way back to the Ft. Lauderdale airport to come home from our Honeymoon.

We were driving around in circles for an hour. I kept reading the directions and I kept telling him to make a left onto Taylor Road, then I was screaming at him to make the left onto Taylor Road.

I hate flying so I was this crazed person screaming this.

We both started laughing and said if we ever had a daugher we would name her Taylor

Gianna Nicole-Gianna means John-named after my FIL, my brother(her godfather), and Nicole named after my cousin who has a blood disease that can be fatal

Amelia Francesca-Amelia is my DH's deceased grandmother's name and Francesca is my deceased grandmother's name.

We love namesakes, it makes the name more special to us.
