Spinoff on what is the hardest part....

I dont want to offend anyone, but the main reasons why DH and I dont want to have children yet is because we are selfish.

As it is right now I come home from work, plop in front of the computer/tv for a while then leisurely make dinner or go to the gym, watch tv, etc. There is no schedule...on the weekends we sleep late and do whatever we want.

When you have children I realize alone time is limited but does that feeling of selfishness leave you? You have to give your every waking moment to someone else.

I guess this is telling me I am not ready yet!

Yes and no I am much less of a selfish person now but I don't feel like I am really being unselfish... Its hard to explain

and there is NOTHING wrong with being a little selfish in wanting alone time or alone time for you and DH. I think its perfectly normal and nothing anyone should feel bad about!! If I didn't have my alone time every once in awhile I would go nuts!! And have a lot less patience!

I was like you I liked to do my thing and come and g o as I pleased sleep late on weekends but then AF didn't come and I found out I was prego and Iwas happy and even thoguht I can't always sleep late and come and go as I please I love taking care of my little girl she brings me so much happiness. FH helps out alot he will get up with Marissa one day on the weekend so I at least have one day to sleep in late and once or twice a month FH father and stepmother take her for a weekend. since they are the only ones that live really close to us. My parents live in PA and FH mother and stepfather live upstate. I love being a mom.

Don't feel your being selfish but its a sign your not ready thats JMO
