my sister got that octagon gate. It goes around in a circle, so the child plays on the floor and gives them alot of room, but still on the floor so dont have to worry about climbing out.

Re: spinoff-showering with older babies ( 9+ months)

Thankfully if I put Bella in her excersaucer with Jack's Big Music Show on I can get a shower AND get ready.

Otherwise, I shower the night before when DH gets home from work.

If I'm just getting dressed, she'll play on the floor next to me.

Do you have see through curtains or a shower door? Would he be content playing in the bathroom while you shower provided there's nothing he can get into while in there? Could he occupy himself while you're in there showering?

I usually wait til they both take a nap or before DH leaves the house. If they are awake, I turn on Jack's Big Music Show, strap Nate in his highchair, put Jayden in the pack n play and put the dog on the porch. I know I've got 20 mins to shower and get dressed.

While I dress DS is walking around but when I shower DS is in the pack n play. I put on Noggin or a DVD and he stays while I shower.

I generally shower when DH is home or when he's napping. He is so mobile right now that he WILL NOT BE CONTAINED.

Unfortunately I can Chat Icon We're lucky that ours isn't in the bathroom, but we had to completely block off that area.

In my bathroom he would be turning on the water for the spa tub and playing with the hose. We have the garbage on top of our laundry sorter. And watch out if the toilet is open Chat Icon

I try to shower while he's napping but if he is up and I need to shower so I can go out I will either put him in his crib and take a quick shower or put the baby gate up in his room and leave him in his room.

I shower while she is sleeping at night or I shower when she is taking a nap the next morning. Otherwise, I let her climb around the bathroom while I shower.

I can basically only shower when DH is home (or someone else is around)- so I shower quickly before he leaves for work. Otherwise in a bind I put her in the crib with some toys and shower as quick as I can. DD won't be contained in anything and will wail away in her crib. She tries to climb out of her exersaucer so that is out. She is trying to climb out of her crib and pnp now too but she isn't going to get out soon.

some days but its rare...he will stand and watch it..but I dont wanna take the chance till we have a play yard that he wont go anywhere. Usually his limit is like 5 minutes tops in that thing.
