Spinoff to Annie's post... Should I be scared?

DS is 2 yrs, 9 months old. He definitely has his tantrums, but to avoid that I try to let him do/choose as much as possible on his own, and he gets time outs when appropriate. His worst offense is hitting, and for that he gets time outs in his room. It's frustrating but I know it's just a phase.

I never feel like I'm at my wits end with him, though. Sure there are nights where I start drinking before dinner is even on the table Chat Icon but it's usually because of the volume level in the house, not the behavior.

Am I in for a rude awakening? Am I going to all of a sudden not be able to handle the tantrums and the attitude? Am I insane for thinking that even if the 3s are 100x worse than the 2s... that I'll still be able to handle it with minimal grey hairs?

Someone save this for a year from now when I am begging for mercy Chat Icon

For your sake, I hope not!Chat Icon

We never went through the terrible 2's.

Frankie was an angel, with a few moments here and there, until exactly 3 months before the demon came and possessed him.

Then we had 4-5 months of complete and utter misery and Chat Icon .

Now, we have bad days (and I mean BAD) and good days.

The fun part is you wake up and you never know what you're going to get.

Truthfully LB, Luca's personality has always seemed pretty laid back whereas Syd was always a little more spirited. She's a good girl and very respetful, comapssionate, sweet, and funny but towards ME sometimes, a beast. Maybe you working FT out of the house also helps your situation because your kids are probably happier to see you than mine who spends a great deal of time with me Chat Icon

I don't know if this my own craziness but I totally feel like girls get this worse than boys...I see it with Chels already esp the past few days and I know I'm in for it if the 3's are supposed to be worse than the 2s. I also agree with Annie, I think the fact that I'm home with her all day she takes advantage of that fact bc she really can be an angel child for othersChat Icon

DS was more intense and extreme than DD, but DD was in her "terrible 2s, 3s, 4s...." longer than DS.

The truth?? I had no idea what people were talking about when they talked about the terrible 2's.

Exactly 1 month before he turned 3, I remembered a phrase my mother always said to me..."whoever came up with the terrible 2's never had a 3 year old"Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

IMO 2 has NOTHING on 3. and 4 has it's momentsChat Icon
