Re: Spinoff to buying in bulk

We are a family of three (going on 4) and I love bulk shopping for certain things:

paper towels
toilet paper
clorex wipes
tylenol
paper cups
shaving cream
razors

I enjoy it not so much saving $$, but saving time. And it is easier for us to do our weekly shopping when i dont need to worry about all this otehr stuff to buy

I think it's worth it for a small family - but, as other posters have mentioned - sometimes you can get better deals elsewhere with sales/coupons.

It is just me and DH and we go to BJs once a month. Im still surprised how fast things go even though its just us, but my DH is a big eater. We do save a lot of money though. Thankfully we have decent storage space.

its all about the math. Not sure if other clubs do this but Costco gives you a breakdown of unit per cost. If you are really thinking hard on how to save money, then go to the supermarket, take a typical food shop and compare it to a costco shop. Remember, you need space for all this stuff you buy.

As a family of 3, we only will buy the paper goods and diapers at BJ's.

We will buy paper plates and plastic cups. It doesn't always pay for us to buy paper towels and toilet paper though. It is usually cheaper at target or stop and shop, depending on who has it on sale.
