Spinoff to cell phone while driving
Why are people still driving while talking on their cell phone in their hand?
I feel we are lucky that we are STILL allowed in NY to talk on our cell phone with a headset.
The thing is, there are PLENTY of headset systems on the market. Regular headset, bluetooth, etc....
Why aren't people using them since there would be no tickets or issues?

I have to agree! Down here in NC you are still allowed to drive while on the phone....as if the NASCAR wanna-bes don't have enough issues with POOR driving skills!
It's just not safe for yourself, and others!!!!

Headsets, speakerphones, bluetooth connections, etc. There are numerous ways of legally using the cell phone that are readily available.....

My point exactly. While still holding a cell phone with our hands? I cannot believe the amount of people I see everyday driving while holding a cell phone.

...Because they su(k. No one can ever hear you. I hate when people call me using them because I have no idea what they're saying.
It annoys me seeing people eating, drinking, putting on makeup, fiddling with their kids etc... when you're in the car DRIVE.

I love my bluetooth. I can hear clearly and people have never complained to me about it (believe me my DH would complain if sound quality was an issue.) I don't use my phone in the car if I can't find my headset, not because its law but phone without headsets are really dangerous while driving.

Re: Spinoff to cell phone while driving
Because we live in a society where too many people are only concerned with themselves and do what ever they want. They have no reguard for the laws, personal safety or the safety of others.
I just saw two men almost get into a fight because a pedestrian went to cross the street on a red light and the driver of the truck (with the right of way) beeped at him. The pedestrian hit the truck's passenger side window. The truck driver pulled over and got out to yell at the guy. Really, over a waiting for a green light?
