Re: Spinoff to Christmas tree post: Real or Fake?

I grew up with a fake tree and continue to have a fake tree. I have no issues with it. It is easy, clean and I love to put my tree up the day after Thanksgiving!

Re: Spinoff to Christmas tree post: Real or Fake?

I swore I would NEVER have a fake tree.

But two years ago when DH had cancer, I had an 18 month old and a crazy asss dog I realized I couldn't take care of one more living thing and bought a tree.

While I'm still a little envious of real trees, I have to say that I love the ease of a fake tree - no needles everywhere, no water for dog or child to get into, no tipping over, no sap on my hands, no worries about when to put it up or take it down.

It's awesome.

Re: Spinoff to Christmas tree post: Real or Fake?

We have a fake tree. I swore I would never, but a few years I ago I bought the best remote control fake tree off of QVC.

So much easier/less messy.

I am in the same situation. I love real trees, but I don't think I am going that route this year. DS would eat the needles.

Love my fake tree because it looks perfect.
Sometimes the real ones are all mis-shapen looking.
Plus- no needles!

Re: Spinoff to Christmas tree post: Real or Fake?

I love my fake tree. My aunt thinks I need a real one and I said "then you come over, find one, clean up after it, water it, cut it, set it and string it, then unstring it, haul it to the curb" No way

I LOVE fake

Mine is even pre strung so I just decorate and done. WORSE, I have a smaller one about 4ft because of the apts we've lived in. So I never even take it apart. It just sits in our garage until we need it Chat Icon

Re: Spinoff to Christmas tree post: Real or Fake?

I grew up with a real tree and I'll always have a real tree to the day I die. DH had fake but I've converted him too. I love the tradition of going and picking it out, cutting it down, flitting into the stand, love the way it smells, and truthfully the needles are not too bad, especially if you cut it fresh. I like that every year our tree is different.

I can't wait to bundle up dd and take her to get our tree this year..its a tradition I hope she will do one day with her own family.

We have a real one, but when I was growing up in Queens, we always had a fake one. It wasn't until I was an adult that I got my first real tree with DH and I was in awe Chat Icon

Re: Spinoff to Christmas tree post: Real or Fake?

Fake, if I had a real one my dog would eat all the needles. I always grew up with a reall one, but now I just have a real wreath that i dont have to worry about watering and there are ALOT less neeldes to worry about!

Re: Spinoff to Christmas tree post: Real or Fake?

I grew up with real trees and duty of vacuuming the needles. Chat Icon Chat Icon

We first had cut trees then my mom bought trees that were not cut so we transplanted them in our yard after the Holidays. So I could never have a cut tree because she installed a guilt trip in my head with cut trees also.

I have a fake tree AND prelit too.

I do like the smell of real trees but the convenience of fake trees are just too convenient and cheaper too.

Re: Spinoff to Christmas tree post: Real or Fake?

Real... I already vacuum daily, so it doesn't change my routine LOL. We cut it down ourselves the weekend after Thanksgiving and continue to do that for DS. So far not one needle is on the floor. I never had fake, and don't think I could... no smell or nothing... just diffferent to me...

Re: Spinoff to Christmas tree post: Real or Fake?

I am sooooooooooooo allergic to real ones.
I swear I am a mess sitting in someone's home for an hour with one.

My brother is against it all...he only supports live trees.

Fake. I hate it but, DH has allergies and insists that it extends to real trees. I have no idea if that is true or not but, I let him win that one since he indulges my village..Chat Icon
