Re: spinoff to crib shopping-With poll---- opinions are WELCOMED!

According to your poll, I am in the minority. We started by looking at mid-price range then high price range. In the end, we picked a much cheaper crib. We are very happy with our decision. This is right for us. In reality the crib in only going to be used 2 years top. Then we have to get a twin bed. The bedroom is too small for a full size bed so the convertible cribs were not an option. So, for us, why spend $$$ for 2-3 years?

In regards to kids in the future, who knows what will happen. I don't know what the future will hold.

i WENT WITH THE MORE ECONOMICAL CRIBS FOR THE TWINKIES AND MY DD AND TO TELL YOU THE TRUTH THEY DID NOT LAST 2 YRS.!!!!!!! ONCE BABY STARTS PULLING THEM SELFS UP AND JUMPING YOU HAVE TO REPLACE LITTLE SQUEAKS AND SCREWS AND IT'S THE MATTRESS AND WELL IT BECOMES KINDA EXPENSIVE,,,THIS CONVERTIBLE BED LOOKS BETTER AND IT'S NOT THAT HIGH PRICED...I FOUND THE HONEY COLOR IN WALMART.COM AND THE CHERRY IN BRU TARGET AND AMAZON HAVE IT ALSO....IT RUNS FROM 300 TO 400 PLUS MATTRESS AND YOU HAVE TO BUY A MATRESS FOR WHEN YOU GO TODDLER AND LOOKS LIKE YOU CAN GET AT LEAST 6 YRS. OUT OF IT IF NOT MORE!! GOOD LUCK ON YOUR DECISION KEEP US POSTED!!!!

Re: spinoff to crib shopping-With poll---- opinions are WELCOMED!

We decided that we would spend the extra money now, as this will be the babies furniture for a lifetime..... we looked at Behrs, then heard Bellini was having a 20% off sale. We went and fell in love with a set that wound up almost the same cost as the Behrs set.....

The furniture is supposed to be in within the next two weeks, I will post as soon as I have pics....

The crib is convertible and their changing tables are vertical instead of horizontal, which I really loved....

We went with a cheaper crib, but a good dresser and changing table. We will get atleast 4 years use out of it.

We ended up with a very nice mid-range priced crib that was well rated by Baby Bargins.

With DD we went quality, her pieces will last her til she gets married, but that's what our intentions are. We spent 2600 bucks on a lifetime crib, changing dresser with hutch and 5 chest of drawers. Her set doesn't look babyish at all and can def last her a very long time.

If you think you are going to want to get the baby teen/preteen furniture then don't go for the higher end brands like pali, munire, legacy, bellini etc. That's how we rationalized it.

Thanks for your response-
The items you purchased for your DDare exactly what we are considering as well as an armoire. We were really drawn to the wood pieces that were kind of traditional/ classic. We were thinking the same way, for longevity-From birth-late teens.

We may be leaning towards these kind of items but are still thinking
