this is eddies for both fall and winter. Old Navy, also comes in blue, very warm, but not too bulky.

Devon..are you going to take the coat off in the car seat or leave him in it and just unbutton?? John is always warm.. I don't want his to die of the heat in the coat in the carseat.. just wondering what others with our aged kids are doing. Do you get a heavy coat or ligher coat..

I think that's the same one we got... but in blue - but I don't think ours is sherpa-lined... I'm not seeing the one we got on their website!
I also got a cute fleece jacket (looks like a northface) from TJ Maxx for $10

for the fall, i purchased a medium weight black columbia fleece and this little jacket from target 
also debating the black old navy jacket with hood for colder weather ... Image Attachment(s):

ughhh Linda, I am so torn about the stupid jacket and carseat thing. We got Travis a fleece zip jacket at Target, but not a heavy winter jacket yet.

As for the carseat, if its a normal weight jacket, they should be fine. I wouldnt put them in say the gaps warmest jacket and then in the carseat, bc a) theyll be crazy hot and b) its not safe.
So IMO, a midweight jacket to keep them cozy, but not overheat, and midweight bc they tend to have less bulk than their heavier weight counterparts, keeps him safer in his carseat.

I think I might get a fleece zip up thingy kind of northface one (i'll check tj maxx) then maybe the one my sister got.
I think I'll get a big puffy one but only for playing in the snow not for car rides.
It was so much easier when they were little. . .the covers on the infant carriers were SO much easier!!

I think the weight of it is great, I think its a matter of convenience though, you have to unbundle them and then put them back into it everytime you go in and out of a store or something, I would think. This is as opposed to just unzipping a jacket, KWIM?

those annoyed when he was a newborn  and he would sweat like a crazy person in that!!
Could you imagine taking that on and off everyday? As it is putting a diaper on him and clothes is a battle every.single.day.

I really recommend it, Im on my 4th year buying winter jackets, LOL and so far this is the best balance I have found of being warm, but not too bulky for the carseat and not a PITA to get on and off, or have to even take on and off for the carseat.

Same here. I got a great reversible fleece Carter's one that was like a raincoat material on one side, and he wore hoodie sweatshirts a lot too. That on top of his long sleeved shirts and sweaters was enough.

Oh Dev - I might still have that leather jacket that Eddie had like 2 or 3 winters ago....it was sherpa lined....I have to see, then he had the leather bomber jacket, but that might be better for Joey next year.
