I've learned that some of the people who are super paranoid about sharing information on LIF apparently have no issue with me knowing their full names, date of birth, address and phone numbers on facebook.

I learned that getting pg isn't always a 1-2-3 thing, and that miscarriages are much more common than i thought.
Not ready to TTC yet but it makes me a little nervous that it could be a long process when we start

phone number? address?! wow. my facebook does have my full name and birthday but it doesnt have my contact info besides e-mail...
LIF is open to the world, and you have more control over who you allow to see your facebook, but i do see the contradiction 
it's like on LIW when someone makes their username Future_____ (new last name) and lists their name and their FH's name in their profile... and then blocks out their names when posting their invitation. it's like... hello, it's in your username! it's really easy to figure out your name! but then again... if someone wanted to save that picture and it circulated the internet maybe they didnt want their names on it?

Hmmmm... so many things..
The plus side:
That this is an amazing community who comes together in times of need to help out each other... even when we have never met in person.
I have learned that it is possible to make friends IRL from this site and I have found a wonderful bunch of girls in NJ who came into my life at a really great time!
On the not so plus side:
I have learned that no matter how innocent your question may be, there is always someone out there who is going to stir up the drama.
I have also learned that because this is a web site and everything is written in text, there are many things that get lost (or made up) in the translation due to the lack of voice tone and body language ... a great contributor to a lot of the drama on the threads.

I've learned that the following things can cause days and pages of drama and debate on a chat board.....
-Icicle lights
-breast feeding
-tattoos & to cover or not cover up for a wedding
-the amount of a wedding gift and whether its expected to 'cover your plate'
-illegal apartments
-prenups
-animals in public
-feeding feral cats
-anyone employed with the macaroni grill
-gang members who are overprotective of their daughters and try to put a chastity belt on them to preserver their virginity [bonus points if you know about THAT ONE]
