I have become close friends with someone I met at work, many years ago. We had a crazy fun about the workplace and just got along great.

I'm okay with being friendly with work people 'cause I just might meet my future best friends.

No...I try not to mix my personal life in with my work...Then again my office is the most BORING place on earth and no one really talks to one another anyway...I wouldn't want to be friends with these dead beats anyway.

I met one of my best friends at work years ago. In the past, I almost always made friends with at least one person from work where I speak to them outside of the office and we visit each others homes but not at this job yet, and I don't know if I will. I like it this way - I stay away from the drama and the gossip.

At my old job I had true friends...people I could count on and even got together outside of work. I haven't found that again - yet

But my motto is, I am here to work but if I make friends along the way -great!

Well...I was, but I think in the next place that I work it will be very different. I was VERY close with my boss, but while I am on maternity leave right now she is currently using every chance to stab me in hte back or blame me for things. She is a little older than me and I hate to say that she was jealous that I got married and am having a baby, but it does seem that way. Plus she would make me feel guilty for taking my earned time off or having to do something for my pregnancy.

I am friends with my co worker, but that is a way more "normal" friendship. I am also still friendly with someone who used to work at my job.

My DH told me the entire time that I was friendly with my boss that she wasn't really my friend and she was just earning my trust to use it against me--sadly, he was right.

I have a few friends from my old job that I keep in contact with, but other than that I'm pretty realistic about the fact that most of these people are not my "friends". Yes we get along, but I have nothing in common with them outside of work.

i guess id like to be friends, but there is literally no time for personal talk during work hours that it would never get to that point anyways.

one girl who started workign in january, we are great friends now. shes proabably my best friend right now.

my bosses & other coworkers, we all hang out. we're all friends.

but i also dont work in a professional environment.

When I was younger, I would hang out with people from work....we would go drinking after work and sometimes on the weekends. but now, I have friends at work but they don't go beyond the work environment.

Funny you ask, since I started a new job, I'm "starting over." I'm friendly, but I'm not going to get close with anyone. I plan to keep my mouth shut and not get involved in any office crap. I'm very friendly, don't confuse me...I've just learned, is all.

On the flip side, one of my best friends ever is from my last job. I'm lucky we found each other!

I have been at the same job for 15 years so I have a lot of friends there. There are certain people I have know for 15 + years they have know me since I was in HS and have seen me grow up over the years. It would to hard to work with people for that period of time and them not know me personally.

I have one very good friend from work. He is who I call my 'work husband'.

My daughter laughs and says 'Mom, you have a male best friend'.....

yes, I am friends with a few of them. We work at a college and actually went to school together.

I have made some great friends in my office, but we don't work closely together because we all work in different areas. When I left my old job I only kept in touch with one person, a good friend, who I continue to see every week or two. It makes the day go by so much more quickly being friendly with my coworkers. Not that we spend the entire day chatting, but it is just a friendly, collegial atmosphere that I love. My old office stunk and everyone hated each other.

At my last job, I made some really good friends. We used to have monthly get togethers that were really a lot of fun. I still keep in touch with most of them and look forward to seeing them this Friday!

At my new job, I now work for a small office with 2 of DH's friends! So it's kind of different because I already know some people. I have made friends with a few people.

I think I have been very fortunate to have met some really good friends through my jobs.

I have made some great friends through work. One of them works in a totally different department from me and we don't really work together. I have a couple of other people in my department that over the years we have become friends. I work in a pretty big department and there are a lot of people around my age plus I'm on the company softball team so I've made some friends through that as well. I like being friends with my co-workers. It makes the day go by so much faster and there are times during the day when you need to vent to people.

I left my job and keep in touch with 2 co workers and my supervisor. One co worker I am very close to. I call her my 'Work Mom". We keep in touch a few times a week. It's great.

I am friends with my boss, one booking agent and the IT guy. The 4 of us are actually going out for drinks tomorrow night.

My boss was actually my friend long before he was my boss. He was promoted to my boss 3 months ago.

The one booking agent is like a big sister to me. She's not that much older then me and I feel like I can really trust her

The IT guy we just started talking and became friendly.
