Re: spinoff to GHI insurnace question
Clomid, Injections, etc. would be under your prescription plan. I know for me, perscriptions go through DH's union - not GHI.
I have GHI - CBP group through the City of NY and I know that IUI's are covered (with co-pays) 100% Ultrasounds are considered a seperate co-pay from the $15 office visit. I personally think that it's silly but that's the way it is.

Re: spinoff to GHI insurnace question
I was about to comment, then saw the post. Ye so far all of my ultrasounds and IUIs have been covered. It's the constant copays that get me. Bloodwork is $15 and ultrasound is $15 each time and at 2 x per week it's $60 a week out of my pocket not counting the copays for all the meds. And yes, the meds went through the union.

Re: spinoff to GHI insurnace question
I have GHI & paid $30 copay per visit (the $30 covered the bloodwork, sono and visit) however, I occasionally also got $15 bills from Quest Diagnostics for any bloodwork that had to be sent out to their lab.
Oddly, there were no copays for any of my IUI's or for DH's semen analysis.
Prescriptions were covered under my union insurance - the copay varied because of my deductible.
I was told that some of the prescriptions needed for IVF (injectables, etc...) are covered through GHI and that GHI will cover 1 order of meds per cycle - so the doctor always orders evtra meds just in case. (I don't know exactly how this works because I did not end up doing IVF)
Also, IUI's are unlimited till you are 42 (or 43?) years old and they will cover 75% of the cost of IVF for up to 3 cycles.
Hope this helps!

From a fellow NYC teacher, be careful with injectibles, it took me like 40 phone calls but I found out that injectibles are actually covered through PICA! nobody tells you this of course and it takes like a thousand calls and transfers!
