spinoff to high risk...sorry i now this is aksed like crazy..
if people r rec their ob and say he sees high risk is that the same as going to a peri
or do they have to be separate
obvi the health of these 2 babies is top priority but the rec's i have been getting have been go to my guy/girl he is my ob but deals with high risk too
is that good enough or is it better to deal with someone strictly high risk then go to a reg ob
this is driving me nuts!

Think it depends upon your specific issues. For example, my SIL carried twins to full term with no issues, only saw OB and they sent her out if they needed something. However, she didn't take one shot or one pill besides a prenatal. For your situation, I'd 100% say Peri. IVF twins (already at risk, statistically) and history of thrombophilia issues. Plus you take meds that should be monitored and checked accordingly.

I agree with Kelley.. not to mention, you will never regret getting EXTRA monitoring, extra attention, etc etc.. But you don't wanna find yourself in a situation where you would have benefited from seeing a peri, but didn't....
The way it was described to me with my first pregnancy was.. the OB is your doctor, the peri is the baby's doctor.

I agree with this. Gina, check my post on the multiples board about this... it was really helpful. Utliamtely, Im sticking with myh ob (who is also high risk). I asked about a PN and he said I wont need to go unless there are complications-which he tests for anyway. I dont have any other known issues though so you might want to consider it just for peace of mind. GL!!

My OB is high risk, but also sends people out for certain issues, like thrombo because the peri specializes in it. My friend had bicorniate uterus and only saw that OB.

ITA- a little hand holding does everyone a little good... And you get to see your babies every 2 weeks instead!
